Why would anyone trade away one of the best pitchers in basball, and the face of the franchise? And we do have a good middle of the line up, if Smoak can get a full season under him, he will show everyone exactly what he is capable of, Ackley, Smoak, Montero, Carp is a pretty good of the line up, and full of youth. You just need to find a lead off hitter to hit ahead of Ackley, and we dont need any more starters, we have a ton, and 2 on the verge of being called up this year, and may start out of spring training, plus a 19 year old, who is being compared to Bob Gibson, and is expected to start in the rotation in 2013..

Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread
Hey guys, I have a question...
I'm waiting for the OS rosters to come out before I officially start my franchise. But I wanted to do a quick sim through of a season to see what has changed from 11 to 12.
I get to the off season and go to look at "Player Progression" and notice it is not there. Am I missing it? Or has this been taken out of the game?
Kinda nice to be able to see how quickly my prospects are progressing at the end of each year...Comment

Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread
Will probably start up an M's franchise (die hard fan) right away, although I'd love to have os rosters (might start over once they drop)..
the only thing is I can't stand hitting with Ichiro for some reason so I usually trade him so we'll seeComment

Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread
Dude, Ichi will probably retire after the year, so let him finish his carrer as a M, and dont even start, because some of our best players are going to be battleing for a spot out of spring training, and they wont even be in the game, its a waste of time man, trust me.Ducks, Mariners, Blazers, Lillard, Favre, Iverson, Griffey, Hernandez, Hawks, Wilson,

Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread
lol yeah I know, that's why I'm leaning towards not starting, but at the same time I'm leaning towards starting one (one I'm not too serious with), just to get the feel of the game
oh and I wasn't very serious about trading himComment

I thought about waiting for some rosters to drop but i'm itching to play so I started my Yankees franchise..might restart later if there are major changes. played a few spring training games but just had to jump into it! don't think i'll be making any major changes to my lineup just yet though. loving this years version of the game though!Comment

Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread
I am NOT waiting for OSFM. I started with the Mets of all teams using today's roster updates. I won my first game 3-1 I think and Santana pitched 6 scoreless innings. My second game I lost to the Braves either 5-3 or 6-3.
I love the pulse pitching, and I am still learning balls from strikes at the plate. I'm having a blast with both baseball games so far.
I'm also planning on playing every game. I have the Vita so I expect the vast majority of games I play to be on that system, which plays pretty well.
The Mets don't have a ton of high level talent, so I think I'm going to really have to be creative to either round out a solid team, or chase some nice free agents/trades.Comment

Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread
So, I've got this guy in RF I refer to as "The Regret" Lucas Duda. He reminds me of the girl in coed beer league softball who cannot stop a grounder in front of him. I'm not sure what to do with him.
I need to add:
-A serious power hitter, none of these toolsy losers like Jason Bay.
-A RF who isn't afraid of the ball, or who doesn't play in moon boots
-RA Dickey is my #2 SP, that's not good.
Ahh, the Mets.Comment

Just swept the Rangers in a 4 game series. 4-3, 3-2, 2-1, 3-2. Dustin Ackley is on fire for me batting .417 3 HRs 6 RBI in 6 games.
Do you really care where I sent this from?MLB: Texas Rangers
Soccer: FC Dallas, Fleetwood Town
NCAA: SMU, UTA
NFL: Dallas Cowboys
NHL: Dallas Stars
NBA: Dallas Mavericks
