Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread
1-2 so far with the Twins. Could've been 2-1 if it wasn't for me losing a game due to a balk. Ryan Doumit has been lights out for me. Mauer, ehh...I need to be more patient with him and let the game come to me instead of forcing a hit.
I am going to keep playing with the current default rosters. However, I do not like Jamey Carroll at SS due to his weak arm. I am going to try to nail an ACE pitcher before the trading deadline (yes its far but I have goals for every season). Hopefully I can find a nice young SS within my organization that i like or grow into Carroll... Let's go Twins!!!!!Comment

Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread
I started one with the Rockies to pass the time while waiting for the OSFM rosters to come out, and I'm loving it so far. Might actually consider restarting it with them once those hit.Comment

Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread
I'm 2 and 0 so far against Pittsburgh. The trade for Drabek and Morrow for Blanton was accepted by the CPU then I turned Morrow and Polanco for Young. The first game was a 3-2 squeaker, Holiday went 7 strong with 11 K's in a no decision. Game 2 the bats woke up and we won 5-2, Lee pitched a great one 6 strong, 1 ER.Comment

4-5 now, and just took 2/3 against the Phillies. Once I get to .500 with the Mets I am moving up to veteran difficulty.Comment

6-4 with the Phillies.
I played a marathon game at SF last night after work. To put it in perspective, I started at 2 a.m. EST and ended at 4:30.
GIANTS 1, PHILLIES 0 ... in 19 innings.
I mustered only five hits.
Oh, and the game ended on an error when Kyle Kendrick, in his fourth inning of relief, airmailed a throw to home plate after juggling what should should have been an easy ground ball back to the mound.

2-6 so far with my Cubs. I hit three home runs off the Nationals in my first series and haven't launched one since. First win didn't come until game 7. Getting good hits and scoring runs but my starters tend to die in innings 5-6 and let everything get crushed.Comment

Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread
I had something similar opening night in my Rockies franchise, against the Astros. Went 18 innings went from about 7:45 pst until 9:30 pst. but it was so much fun. ended up winning 3-2.6-4 with the Phillies.

Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread
I'm really struggling in my Padres fantasy draft franchise so far at 3-7. I have some great hitters (Longoria, Carlos Santana, Eric Hosmer, Shin Soo Choo) but my pitching isn't great. I've had trouble getting hits but have made progress.
In my last game I lost 5-3 against Colorado but Hosmer for 3 for 3 with a run opposite field HR and a standup triple. I had 12 hits total but only 3 runs to show for it. I had a run negated by a ground rule double. Things should be on the way up.Comment

Lol, how did burnett work out for you? I've only had the chance to play one spring training game so far and he was all over the place in 3 innings. Never been a fan of the video game Oswalt though.Comment

Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread
Had my pitcher (Chris Volstad) get hit in the head with a line drive. He immediately went down and laid on the ground in front of the mound for the duration of the play. The other team had a runner on first who advanced to third and the hitter went for second. I retrieved the ball with my SS who threw to second to try and get the runner out. It happened to sail over the 2B head and be an error. The commentary made the comment "I hope it didn't hit him where I think it hit him" and proceeded to show him on the ground. However it went to a cut scene of Castro and made the error sound and went to the next batter without my pitcher being hurt or any further comment of the situation. Not that I am complaining because I don't want my pitcher hurt

Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread
Started a franchise draft with the marlins before I start my real franchise(cardinals with OSFM) and I have a pretty decent team. My lineup is:
Alcides Escobar SS
Matt Kemp CF
Prince Fielder 1B
Michael Stanton RF
David Freese 3B
Alex Avila c
Danny(sp?) Espinosa 2B
Brett Gardner LF
And my starting rotation is
Tommy Hanson
Jarr Jurjens(sp?)
Matt Moore
A Dodgers pitcher I can't remember
Jake ArrietaComment
