    Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread

Also I'm playing the Marlins right now at their park, I took the opener and there's been 3 lead changes in the second game but I think I'm gonna drop this one.

Strasburg vs. Johnson in the rubber coming up.

    Love this game.

        Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread

Lot's of trades in my franchise. Major update coming tonight. I am in August. The Marlins are in 2nd in the East but a full 10 games out of first. We are sitting 2 games out of the wild card with 4 teams tied for the spot ahead of us. We are currently in a 3 game set vs one of those teams in the Dodgers. Cole Hamels has struggled in his last 2 starts going 0-2 and giving up 10 runs in 11 innings!

Logan Morrison is still leading the NL in batting.

Statistical update coming very soon along with player movement recap.

Just got the game today and started a franchise with the Nationals. Played first game against the Cubs and won 8-1. Some of the notable highlights were Michael Morse hit 2 home runs 1 of them being a inside the park after the right fielder dived and missed so it rolled to the wall. Strasburg went 5.1 innings and had 7 K's, and Harper had a poor game only getting 1 hit.

            Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread

It seems like all my arbitration or contract renewal guys never accept contracts. Even if the offer I make, has their interest bar at the max.

Don't understand how I lost arbitration when the player was asking for 11M and he posted ERA above 5.00 the season before!

Reasons like that are why I'm now 2M over budget so I can barely make moves.

How can you see how much cap space other teams have, cause seems like every deal I make, unless the other team loses salary, they won't want my guy. Even if I did some random deal like offering them Granderson for a F potential minor league guy

Geez that has to be the best Os team of all time. Are you playing out the games? I am struggling to get to 500 although I suck at the game (even after playing god knows how many games), and more or less only pitch when I don't sim

lol. You should be 161-1 if Cena is on your team.

Is it fun to play with that kind of team? For me I don't think there would be much of a point. Who's your number two Hamels? As to your question why not create a Babe Ruth or just add Fielder maybe Ortiz if you want a real Dh.

I said screw it with the issues I have with the game and roll with a no patch mlb the show...I have decided go play legend mode, timed hitting, meter pitching, analog fielding, default guess pitch. Found some nice 40 man rosters with equip, pitch and skill edits. Very impressed with them!

I play 14 game seasons and only 3 inning games with the mariners...well my first game I won in 6 innings 1-0...montero had an rbi double off the green monster for the only run of the game. Felix went the distance...enjoyed it!

I played out every game except for like the last month. When I started simming the games in Sept, I was like 85-95 wins and 32 losses at the time.

Ok guys im new here at OS but I thought I would tell ya a little about my franchise with Seattle. Note that force trades are NOT on, ignore budget is OFF as well so this franchise is legit 110%. Also I am not very far into the year, maybe 11 or 12 games in.

                              Record 10-2

Ive made plenty of moves in this franchise, the biggest had to be moving my 1st Baseman Justin Smoak and 3rd Baseman Kyle Seager to the Yankees to get back Michael Pineda. I also got Nick Swisher in that deal but Swisher is no longer with us. That was to solidify the rotation. Ichiro is also gone and the starting right fielder is now Torri Hunter who is batting .360 with 2 home runs, 7 rbi's and 0 strikeouts. Some more players I brought in were Cole Hamels, Josh Beckett, Madison Bumgarner (No longer with my team) The Mets starting Center Fielder I forgot his name haha. Alex Gonzolez is here as well. Now most of you will say oh I have force trade on but I dont. Seattle's Triple A and Double A teams are stacked with prospects who I have traded away in order to win.

                              Starting Pitching Rotation

                              1. Felix Hernandez 2-0 23 K's in 3 starts
                              2. Cole Hamels 1-0 8 K's in 2 starts
                              3. Josh Beckett 1-0 7 K's in 1 start
                              4. Michael Pineda 0-1 14 K's in 1 start
                              5. Danny Hultzen 1-0 9 K's in 1 start

One of my relievers (Tom Willhelmson) is 2-0 in his Middle Reliver role right now and another reliever (Geroge Sherrill) is 1-0. My rookie closer (Stephen Pryor) is 4 for 4 in save opprotunities and did some non save work when I was up 6-0 for one inning.

                              Starting Lineup

                              1. Dustin Ackley 2nd Baseman
                              2. Alex Gonzalez Shortstop
                              3. Jesus Montero Catcher
                              4. Mike Zunino 1st Baseman
                              5. Torri Hunter Right Fielder
                              6. Mark Reynolds 3rd Baseman
                              7. Kirk Nieuwenhuis Center Fielder
                              8. Aubry Huff Left Fielder
                              9. Carlos Pegero Designated Hitter

I think I have made a pretty good roster with Seattle. Winning games finally after years of struggle haha. I think I am a couple moves away from really taking this team to the next level.

                              Moves that are possible

                              Trade Alex Gonzalez
                              Trade Aubry Huff
Trade Torri Hunter for a young right fielder

If anyone has advice or comments id love to hear them!

Just wondering if you guys could answer a few ?s for me. This is my first year w/ The Show and franchise mode is the only reason I play. Me being someone who likes to have the most realistic feel to the season as possible, i'm going to wait until the post trade deadline rosters come out, but still I hate how the CPU makes ridiculous trades. Just wanted to know what settings you guys have for your Franchise as far as the CPU roster control, if you control all 30 teams, forces trades, etc. I go with the Brewers, so I'll willingly tank this season but I want to avoid the outrageous trades without the hassle of having to resign all 50+ players for each team after each season. Any help?
