    Re: 2012 Franchise Progress Thread

Finished up the KC series with an L, ending my 7 game win streak and simmed the next series, going 1-2 to Minn. Now on to a 3 game series in Detroit, down 1 in the Central and up .5 game in the WC...got D Lowe going against Verlander Game 1...Slowey vs Sherzer Game 2 and Masterson vs (cant think of Detroits next pitcher) in the final game...huge series...I think im like 29-22ish.

      a) Not very
      b) Basically any outside 1B, but I'll give up Ike for a star
      c) I have incredibly little in the organization

EDIT: I am 4-9 though, and let's face it, 1 power threat isn't taking me to the world series, I need to build

Also being the Mets I have accepted I have selected a very bleak baseball team.

I wouldn't give up Ike unless that was my last resort......how about Wright, Murphy, and Niese for Kemp? That would give u a young 5-tool guy to pair with Ike

9-4 with the Angels so far. I usually don't make trades but I decided against that this year because of the depth that I have so I traded Bobby Abreu, CJ Cron for Rafael Soriano. Then I signed Roy Oswalt for 2 years to round out my rotation. Pujols and Mark Trumbo are carrying the offense so far and CJ Wilson has been money in his few starts.

Finally bought a PS3 just for the show, and i'm pretty sure it is the greatest game I've ever played. With that said I really want to start my Redsox chise, the only thing holding me back was them not having Bobby V as their manager. I decided I couldn't wait till opening day just for them to maybe put him in the game. Currently working on my hitting in spring training games, and having a blast! Also enjoy reading everyone else's franchise updates.

4-10 now. If you read back I was 4-5 thinking I was hot stuff ready to move up in difficulty.

I don't know what to do with the Mets. I don't get blown out, but I just cannot win ball games.

well if ur games are low-scoring, that means u need to add a bat or two....vice versa with ur pitching

I'm going to wait out April before I make any moves and see how things are shaking out. I signed Rich Harden to a 2-year deal for $4m total with a club option which gives me a little wiggle room. I also called up Manny Acosta (I thought he was a manager) to bolster my middle relief.

Davis and Bay are the only guys hitting for me, and I checked my entire organization and there are 5 A talents in the entire thing. They are Johan Santana, 40-year old Miguel Bautista, 37-year old RA Dicky, 1B Ike Davis and some OF deep in the minors.

I have too many mediocre lefties in my lineup; Murphy, Thole, and Duda who I wouldn't mind turning into mediocre righties.

the guy u was thinkin about is the Indians' manager Manny Acta....i think it'd be better if u start a new franchise when the OSFM rosters are released so u can have your talented minor leaguers in the game to use as players or trade bait...pretty solid signing of Harden...low-risk high-reward...I'd agree with u on one thing...let it ride out a month then think long and hard about makin roster moves but if anybody in your minors is lighting it up, dont hesitate to give them a shot

As sweet as the OSFM sound, I cannot start a franchise over. I'm one of those people who will never make it out of April if I ever restart.

lol well u could always use this time to work on your hitting or whatever you're weak at....cause as of now, u prolly dont recognize 3/4's of the guy's in your minors, most of which prolly aint rated high anyway....it'd be a win-win for you if u ask me...just my 2 cents

Started my Nationals franchise getting ready to play a few spring games to see if Bryce Harper can force his way into the opening day line up.If not I might just go with a Ankiel/Michaels platoon in CF.
One thing I have noticed playing spring training is how pitching deep this club is.The bullpen is freaking stacked! I'll keep you guys posted on how my roster shakes out for opening day.Very fun thread btw.
