Well, I have to say lowering pitch speed to zero does make a difference. The last time I faced Ricky Romero, I got one run; this time with pitch speed at zero, I got 6 runs including two homers, one homer off Darren Oliver. I still have an occasional problem with recognizing low pitches just out of the zone. Perhaps a different camera angle would help.

I wasn't expecting that much of a change going from pitch speed 1 to 0, but it seemed to work well, at least so far.

Edit: I should have used multi quote instead of making 3 posts, sorry guys.

Since Plasma is glass, how about reflections from sun and/or lamps?
I usually play at night but when I play during the day it's fine. As far as the stutter goes, it's there but because everybody thinks they know everything false info is always passed around.

I have a 46" Sony Bravia and honestly.. I don't have any "lag" at all. I set my ps3 to accept all resolutions, and haven't noticed any issues with Rock Band on the x360 or The Show with my ps3. I use timing hitting as well. Mine's an older 60Hz LCD TV. I don't use "game mode" either.

Wow... so I have a Samsung 50' I think LED TV. Luckily I haven't bought the game yet. So by what I'm reading there really isn't much you can do for Samsungs to fully fix the lag issue? This is some pretty disheartening news. Does this lag issue exist with every sports game I play on this TV!?

I find pitch speed at zero really helps, and I'm hitting better now. I wouldn't give up on the game if I were you. This is the best baseball game out there.

The stutter during the pitch will be fixed by rebuilding your database, for the 4th time. Ughh

Could someone link the steps for the database rebuild here?

And one more thing: If I do it, will my save files (etc.) be okay?

They should be ok...I think your music is in danger if you have any though, and videos.

                  Turn off your PS3.
Hold the power button until the PS3 shuts off.
Hold the power button again, you'll hear 3 quick beeps and release.

                    Thanks.

But steps one and two are confusing. Did you really mean for me to turn OFF my PS3 and THEN hold the power button until my PS3 shuts OFF? After step one, it's already off.

I tried that last year, but it didn't work for me. Does it have to be done 4 times?

I have a Samsung LED and Game Mode helps with the lag, it just hurts the graphics quite a bit as well. Its worth it for me because the game is pretty awesome.

                          Rebuilding the database instructions.

Something that should be done from time to time even without any issues.

I got a Samsung 6100 Led tv and was real upset with it once I started playing. I would hit my button and the delay was awful. I had given up but I decided to go to YouTube and see if anyone had an answer for this. Good thing for me' I found a video of a guy showing the best settings....he showed how to go deep into the tv and put it in game mode. No way I would have ever found that

Re: This game absolutely, 100% *needs* a "calibrate lag" feature

I don't seem to have any problems with lag but I have a fairly nice 42 inch full local dimming LG and I use only the local dimming. You really should not even need to use game mode only. All you really need to do is manually turn off all the crap that you don't need. I would never sacrifice local dimming for a teensy bit of lag.

Why they keep putting all these ****ing awful contrast and picture tard modes into their TV's is beyond amazing when all they do is screw your picture up lol.

Some lower end TV's that are a couple years older are just going to be inherently laggier with much worse response times. That's how it goes.

On another note it still amazes me how daft the populace is when trying to calibrate or understand their TV's. The world is amazingly helpless. Literally, you are milliseconds away from doing the research yourself on Bing or Google. Is it really that hard?

Real Cinema is for 24fps mode on Blurays and really it looks awful. You also have to calibrate your bluray player to even accept this mode or you won't see it anyway. 24fps is worse than 3:2 pulldown for movies IMHO. The judder is insane in its native format.

240hz is rubbish. 120Hz can work on certain games that play at 30fps and have a lot of sidescrolling like LBP or Fat Princess. In fact, Both of those are awful to look at without 120Hz mode on which would be the Low mode.

For 60fps games these modes are next to worthless.

Thanks for bumping this thread. It made me look through settings on my TV to see if I could find anything to help me. I've played a ton of games but always had trouble catching up to fastballs inside or up.

I saw a few posts in here of people with Sony Bravias. I've got one as well, and played with game mode on, as well as turning off the extra crap in the picture menu under options. I just now found that I had something called Cinemotion set to Auto1. Just turned this off on my HDMI and hitting feels completely different. I can now catch up and turn on pitches. It made a world of difference.
