Re: OS Arbitration Panel Thread 2013 Edition
We have sent this proposal to the necessary parties and have obtained the go ahead to complete this trade. We would like to wish our former prospects well and look forward to seeing how they develop in Miami. We would also like to welcome Mr. Stanton to the Northwest as we will do everything to keep improving this team.TO: Seattle Mariners
FROM: Miami Marlins
SUBJECT: Giancarlo Stanton
Your concerns are well-warranted. And the inclusion of potentials helps the decision-making process. This package is much more amenable to our front office people. If you are willing to part with the following package, we can complete this deal.
MARINERS GET:
OF Giancarlo Stanton
MARLINS GET:
SP Danny Hultzen
SP James Paxton
SS Nick Franklin
SP Brandon Maurer
RP Carter Capps
As always, counter-proposals are welcome.Comment

Re: OS Arbitration Panel Thread 2013 Edition
Yeah, I would have wanted one of them at least...The M's were prepared to give up Walker among others for Justin Upton, though they weren't also tossing all their lefties into that one.
It'll be interesting to see if this paints the Marlins rep into a corner (since Stanton will undoubtedly be the most sought after player this year) regarding future trades, especially with M's 'chisers (a logical fit). The crafty owner will point to that Stanton trade precedent..Chicago Cubs | Chicago Bulls | Green Bay Packers | Michigan WolverinesComment

We understand your position on Domonic Brown. If you want to trade him at the deadline, definitely give us a call first; we want him bad and I'm sure we could work out a deal if the situation arises.
We're definitely interested in Darin Ruf. We feel that he has a potent bat but he's basically collecting dust for you guys so we're prepared to offer you Felipe Paulino in exchange.
Paulino will give you guys a much better option than John Lannan at #5 and we're aware of how big pitching is on your team.
I've heard that sound 3 times... once was Babe Ruth, the second was Josh Gibson, and the third was Bo Jackson- Buck O'Neil

Although Darin Ruf has broken out in a sense at the minor league level and during September call ups he has struggled defensively and offensively in ST. We are prepared to send Darin Ruf on his way out to pursue better opportunities. We feel Filipe Paulino could be a serviceable veteran 5th man if Lannan struggles early. We accept the trade as follows.
Royals get: Darin Ruf
Phillies receive: Felipe PaulinoComment

Re: OS Arbitration Panel Thread 2013 Edition
To: Marlins
From: Mariners
Subject: Anthony DeSclafani
Hello Mr. Hill,
In the Mariners organization, we're always looking to improve our farm system, knowing that one day many of these young men will hopefully find themselves in a pro uniform. We were in discussions with Toronto about acquiring Anthony DeSclafani (63 OVR, C Potential, No Stats-Preseason) before he was sent your way in the Jose Reyes deal. We would like to offer you the same deal that we offered Toronto before they used DeSclafani as part of the Reyes/Johnson deal.
Miami Receives:
RP Lucas Luetge (C Pot, 67 OVR, 25 YO)
CF Abraham Almonte (D Pot, 68 OVR, 22 YO)
Seattle Receives:
SP Anthony DeSclafani (C Pot, 63 OVR, 22 YO)
Right now you seem to have him listed as a closer. We see him as more of a starter and figured you may be able to use Luetge in that relief role with his nice sinker and slider. Luetge has also seen 1.000 years of MLB service, so he knows what it takes to get to the pros. Almonte should help relieve your aging outfield and his speed can cause havoc for catchers (81 SPD, 60 BR ABL).
Please respond promptly, as we may have both players involved in other discussions.
Thanks!Comment

Re: OS Arbitration Panel Thread 2013 Edition
To: Houston Astros
From: New York Yankees (Evil Empire)
Subject: Carlos Correa
Hello Mr. NoFatGirlz4Me37,
The Yankees have become very tired of the negative media attention we have been getting due to one of our players. He is an older player with some baggage that we believe can bring some fans to the seats in Houston. We are willing to pay 75% of his contract so that we can move him and because we understand your salary restrictions at the moment.
We are talking about Alex Rodriguez. Once again we believe he will be an offensive asset in your stadium. He would be able to play 3B, SS and DH. The deal would look like this:
Yankees Receives: SS Carlos Correa
Astros Receives: 3B/SS/DH Alex Rodriguez
Thank you for reviewing this offer…Comment
