The AI logic needs to be adjusted. Trout and Harper should go 1-2 everytime. Or at least both in top 5. People drafting in the late 20's and getting Harper is a bit ridiculous.

Can't fault the people for taking him, but the AI logic is whack.

That is very intriguing yet unrealistic but fantasy drafts aren't meant to be realistic anyway.

Post up your results, I like to see what others get, try and see what they value most, good bad or ugly doesnt matter, you get better each time as you get a feel for when players drop...

Trout is a Top 10 for sure, Harper a little later, I wouldnt say impossible to get both, its hard to match this to real life because this wouldnt happen, but yeah given the serpentine order, not likely to get both...

I havent really looked too much at when certain players are picked in this one, or where you might get some gems, I usauuly do this when OSFM rosters drop as i'll use them most of the year...

I do have general strategies though, and ive noticed in 13 that no matter how good your Starters are, they tend to get tanked, so I try and fill out my batting order first before filling out my rotation and bullpen, for instance my first 10 picks would be 1-2 SP's, 2 RP's, 6-7 positional players... Round 1 is when i pick my guy to build my order around, round 2 and 3 will be my ace and another postion guy to build my order around, i like to have my Catcher postion filled by round 5, round 7-8 are my CP and SU guys by round 14 ive got my batting order filled 2 RP's and rest in SP's, then the next 11 rounds fill out my rotation, bullpen and bench...

I'll be happy to share more details if you like once OSFM rosters are out and ive had a look at where players are falling...

So this is my team! Strong starting rotation, great defense for the most part. Very polarized players (either slow powerful guys or fast contact hitters) and okay bullpen (kinda neglected the pen). Strong starting pitcher prospects. Overall I'm pretty happy with this draft since it sets me up nicely for many years of quality starting pitching which means I can focus my first few drafts on primarily position players

          Pitching: 13th

Give it a few years and that pitching rotation will be insane... Plenty of power and good young talent, bit worried about some of the older guys as the game seems to over do the skills regression of older guys in this game...

              Re: Fantasy Draft Results Thread

I value power , defense , splits , then speed. In that order. MLB came out March 5th I had 4 hours to prep for my draft before my buddies got there. Need any early pick to land quality in 3rd and sixth round. My first 4 picks and are Set. The 3rd round is catcher best available. Weiters sometimes falls here or Salvador Perez or Willin Rosario. A franchise catcher in the 3 rd yes please lol

              1st Giancarlo Stanton
              2nd Jay Bruce
              3rd is catcher
              4th Bryce Harper

5th is Freddie freeman las of the decent 1st basemen
6 can be kipnis Espinosa or Barney
7th is finally a pitcher jarrod Parker
8th and on I go Rack rack City on 3rd basemen. Viciedo Brett lawrie manny Machado , mike Moustakas. Then turn back to pitching.
I play MLB exclusively with my cousin. Usually looking for info on Franchises. We played minor league baseball as 9-10 YOs on the Zephyrs.

Any news on fantasy drafts being fixed?

I can pick one player then the next round the player selection screen is black, but i can press X and it will tell me who i'm going to draft.

This is really frustrating as my favorite part of the game is fantasy drafts, so without it i don't want to play.

I've heard of this but never happened to me. Hopefully they can come out with a patch to fix and I assume they will.

As for me, I'll be doing a draft tonight after all the NCAA games are over and I will post my results.

                    LF Kyle Blanks

I wasn't too worried about trading away prospects, I just wanted to put a nice team together and play a few games for fun while I wait for the OSFM rosters to start my franchise...

EDIT: Made a few more trades... Acquired Eric Hosmer, Mike Minor & Logan Forsythe for Freeman... Also, I traded Jonny Venters for Kelvin Herrera... I'll update my roster above with these...

Wht do you all think ab drafting actual (minor leaguers or appearing this year ) playing a season of minor league ball then bringing all them up to Th Show ?? I mean players really on the cusp too. I think it would give you the best of both worlds. Jus a thought

                        Reds get:
                        B. Lawrie 3B
                        M. Parkinson 1B
                        Alexi Arellano SP A Pot

                        Nationals get:
                        M. Rodriguez 1B
                        B. Belt 1B

I basically did this because Brett Lawrie is hands-down my favourite player, and I waited too long to get him in the draft.

                        Reds get:
                        Andre Ethier RF
                        B. Logan RP
                        A. Vizcaino RP

                        DBacks get:
                        M. Moustakas 3B
                        Anderson Pena RP D

I needed to shore up my RF Position, and I had Moustakas expendable after acquring Lawrie. I wanted to add some depth in my bullpen and got that by adding someone who can contribute now in Logan, and a prospect in Vizcaino.

                        Reds get:
                        R. Davis RF
                        R. Weeks 2B
                        C. Rasmus CF

                        Royals get:
                        A. Ethier RF
                        J. Rutledge 2B

I wanted to improve my teams speed, as I had good hitting outfielders (Harper, Kemp) But neither of them have blowaway speed. Now I've got a true leadoff guy, and, because Ethier for Davis would've been a rip-off, I decided to upgrade my 2B. I got Rasmus simply because he was available.

The cubs are better IMO Astros get the edge in pitching but Correa and Buxton would look silly at the major leagues right now. The castellanos pick I like curious to see wht he does. Good Drafts tho
I play MLB exclusively with my cousin. Usually looking for info on Franchises. We played minor league baseball as 9-10 YOs on the Zephyrs.

Minnesota Twins because they have the best stadium/uniform combo in the majors:

                              Lineup:

                              RF: Carl Crawford
                              CF: Mike Trout
                              LF: Bryce Harper
3B: Alex Rodriguez (Whom I'm trying to trade)
                              1B: Freddie Freeman
                              C: Jesus Montero
                              DH: Eric Hosmer
                              SS: Ian Desmond
                              2B: Brett Lawrie

                              SPs:

                              1. Roy Halladay
                              2. Madison Bumgarner
                              3. Michael Pineda
                              4. Zach Wheeler
                              5. Ivan Nova

Not much for relievers except for Mariano who is very easy to get in the mid 20s in the draft.

I have a lot of prospects including Shelby Miller, Taijuan Walker, Justin Turner and Bubba Starling. I also have Jemile Weeks on the bench. Switching between him, Hosmer and Lawrie.

                              Send me your thoughts

                                Re: Fantasy Draft Results Thread

@cottageboy789 I like the look of your order, however Davis is old and this regression system, even after the patch will take him down quite quickly, if your looking for a young speedy OF prehaps look at someone like Michael Brantley, you pitching rotation looks good though and your prospects make it look good for a long time and they are back by a solid bullpen IMO...

@stangs4 I think both drafts have their strengths and weakness, I like the cubs batting order better than the Astros however the Astros have a far stronger starting rotation, I like the cubs bullpen better however... Given the fact that this games sim seems to favour strong batting over strong pitching I have to say I would pick the cubs draft if I had to make a choice, I look forward to seeing how it plays out though...

@BigBlue72 Once again a good mix of young talent, solid starting rotation and Miller should be ready to take over from Halliday when this regression system renders him useless, if it were me though I would play Lawrie at 3B, Weeks at 2B and bench/DH ARod until you can move him (for watever you can get as soon as you can), but that's what I'd do...

I have completed another draft post patch as I hope it has fixed the progression/regression as it says it has and I will post those results soon...
