I don't have the game but if it is freezing on a cut scene try playing on fast play without any cut scenes.

Re: mlb 14 "hang" bug
has it happened for u after the patch?I should point out that the two times it happened with me were before I had installed the 1.08 patch... which I have just installed now. (For some reason it wouldn't install last night.)
So, it could be that it is an out of the box issue??
Fingers crossed that it is one of the things the patch is for!!Comment

Re: mlb 14 "hang" bug
I don't want to sound harsh but you should have done it already! Just delete your 5gb or 10gb game data and re-install. Try first the 5gb if you initially did the 10gb one and vice-versa.
If you still have the problem proceed to the rebuild of PS3 database.Comment

Re: mlb 14 "hang" bug
I just got this hit by pitxh freeze. I have 1.08 update. Brett Lawrie, pure analog, franchise spring training game... Forced to exit/ simulate rest of game...everytime I try to report bug on show nation it gets to a certain point and then exits the site. Notice a few others had the same issue. Someone else also had it happen with Lawrie in franchise modeComment

Re: mlb 14 "hang" bug
Hmm, could it be related to pure analog?
To those saying its related to the hardware/data on the system, I find that unlikely from how people have described it. From the descriptions this seems like a bug in the game engine as the game continues to run fine, but is stuck in whatever loop that got triggered from the HBP. Seems like maybe just a scripting bug.
Not ruling out that its a data corruption or hardware issue, but so far the description does not seem like that is the case. I haven't seen it myself so I'm just going on what people are posting.Comment

Re: mlb 14 "hang" bug
I have been having random freezes throughout the game - not necessarily ht by pitches. It just freezes for 15-30 seconds about once or twice per gameComment

Re: mlb 14 "hang" bug
He should rebuild his database anyway, it's healthy for the hard drive. The only side effect I'm ever concerned about are my playlists and albums are wiped, so I have to remember how I did everything and do it again. Oh, and old PSN messages, but who reads those?
ARoid, I don't know why you're stalling on this one haha. You're like the only one who has the issue, and it's been nearly 24 hours since the HDD database rebuild suggestion. Let's give 'er a whirl and rule 'er out before we continue to explore other media!
Now that sounds like an HDD rebuild, to be honest. Like Mr. OldBoy said, a hangup could be a completely unrelated thing to the hard drive and just an old-fashioned bug. I suggest you go for the same thing though.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Ok. For those thinking this was a "pre-patch" issue:
It's not.
Unpatched, ST, QC's and I got drilled with NO FREEZE.Comment

Re: mlb 14 "hang" bug
This could be because the servers are getting hammered and I think the game looks for info online(or SCEA is sending info ala NSA!
) and it hangs for a bit.
Happened to me last year a lot(and if you remember...was happening in game causing that "hitch" that got patched.
I'm not saying this is it for sure....but try playing with your wireless off(or disconnected....but I think you have to toggle it off if you go wireless) for a game or two and see if it happens there.

Sorry, not tech savy with the PS3 - What is a harddrive re-build? I hardly use my PS3 for anything except MLB the show and Netflix/Blu RaysComment

Re: mlb 14 "hang" bug
Good! Then you run no risk of losing anything you might want (playlists and such) if you do.
Here's a step-by-step. I do it maybe twice a year.
This does not delete game saves. Another question I get is how long does it take. Only about 2 – 5 minutes. For more FAQ’s check the bottom of this post. This is a good thing to do from time to time…
I first tried it on LittleBigPlanet 2 when my game was freezing as I was trying to install it (which ended up solving the problem), then I suggested it to slickdtc after his commentary was cutting out (which also resolved the problem). After that, EnigmaNemesis created a thread as a guide for how to do it, because everybody was really just having problems left and right, and this seemed to resolve all of them.
I really think this has to do with your issue, and hopefully with the OP's issue. If the OP's issue is still happening after an HDD database rebuild and game data re-install, I would say it's some bug that we're going to have to find a way to reproduce based on his settings (something like analog meter pitching, or whatever).Last edited by Blzer; 04-02-2014, 01:09 PM.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: mlb 14 "hang" bug
I use only analog and I havent had the hit by pitch freeze. I have had a couple times, once during apitch it frooze for probably 15 sec or a littel longer, and another time in between plays I think it was. Never frooz up where you had to quit the game, but it did freeze up and then work its way out. Both of mine happen in the same game, and only that game. I have played 4 games and only happen in that 1 game.Hmm, could it be related to pure analog?
