    Re: mlb 14 "hang" bug

Those that are getting it should switch to Timing hitting and see if it still happens. And inversely, those that have not experienced it should switch to Analog

In both cases, you should ideally play multiple games, not just one. This would help completely isolate whether it's a game issue or a PS3 conflict.

Apologies if this stuff has been answered, since I've only skimmed the thread, but some things I think are pertinent:

    1. Quick Counts: On or off?
    2. Difficulty Level?
    3. Fast Play?
    4. What teams, and what stadium?
    5. Night game or Day game?
    6. What mode? (Exhibition, Franchise, etc...?)
    7. Was "Fast Forward" or any other similar quick-simming used during the game it occured?

These details as well as any situational (outs, count, runners on base, etc) info will help. I have been unable to reproduce this issue so far.

        Re: mlb 14 "hang" bug

Last night I deleted the MLB 14 data off my PS3, then rebuilt the hard drive and started again with a fresh install.
Thought I would play a quick game before work and in the 3rd inning Verlander plunked Hanley Ramirez and the game got stuck in the loop again. :-(

PS3 with the 1.08 patch installed
HoF for Hitting using pure analog
All-Star for pitching using pure analog
All-Star for fielding but I use buttons with throwing meter off and auto fieldind/manual throwing.
I have guess pitch classic on but I limit myself to only two guesses per at bat!! (can't remember if I guessed or not)
General stuff: strike zone off, hot zones preview, in game tips off, check swing appeals off, balks off, variable strike zone

        Using my own modified roster/ratings
        Tigers @ Dodgers
        Exhibition Game
        Quick counts off
Day game (has happened with night game)
3rd Inning (this has been different most times)
Camera views: Hitting - catcher 2, Pitching - Broadcast, Defense - both dynamic (has also happened on medium)
I used the fast forward to skip innnings as I was only testing out the batting to see if I could get a HBP

Looking at the game batter analysis and game log there is no mention of the HBP anywhere - it's like it hasn't happened/registered yet.

          Re: mlb 14 "hang" bug

@saintjimbo1885, Could you please test without pure analog options for both Hitting and Pitching and report back? The "bug" is limited to 2 or 3 people at max and it's difficult to determine what is causing it. Unfortunately, if you'll encounter the same problem with meter/timing, there is some kind of problem with your physical copy of the game.

Do you happen to remember the outs, count, and if anyone was on base? I kind of doubt it's situation because it sounds like it is very prevalent for you, but anything that could help reproduce the bug is going to expedite a fix. Your team seems to get hit a lot! :-)

There isn't a particular situation, with runners on or not I got the issue, regardless of score of inning

But it could be particular to
                -the count
-the count and a certain pitch
-the count and the mode of pitching play
-the pitch type and the mode play
                etc.

Great news as Verlander has just plunked Ramirez in the 3rd inning AGAIN with the usual result!!
(I was trying same teams but with the default roster to see if it was my re-rates.)

The annoying thing was Puig got an inside the park home run in his first at bat!!

Phew.... I was beginning to worry that it was something personal between Verlander and Ramirez!!

Seriously though, thanks for taking the time to respond to the feedback etc. it is much appreciated.

                          We have a fix.

In the meantime, use some other batting interface than analog, or if you are really an analog or nothing type of player, swing if you think it will be a HBP. Either of these routes should avoid the lock.

I have played 6 games so far,, have not even been hit by pitch yet to say if it happens to me.. seems like the CPU doesn't hit the pitcher as much now which is good last year it was a bit wild even with sliders set up with control

Have you tested this with the PS4 version to make sure that avoids as many bugs as possible at launch?
