Re: I need help hitting
I guess this got lost in the thread, sorry it took so long to reply
If you search for "GMo's camera" it will take you to a few of his threads in the results on page 2. He gives a good description of one of the ways to set up a custom camera.

Re: I need help hitting
This seems like a good place to post this.
I'm just wondering if anyone does something similar or see the humor in my problem.
I love swinging at junk curve balls. In the dirt? Swing! Has to bounce at home plate? Swing! So far out of the zone that the batter on deck has a better chance of hitting it than the current batter? Why the hell not, lets swing!
And here is the reason, and I think some of you may find this as funny as I do, I'm very good at recognizing curve balls. Problem is my brain works like this: "oh curve ball, hit it!" It is almost like instinct, I recognize curve and without thinking I hit that X button.
I think the only solution is to lock me in a small room without a controller and force me to watch curve ball after curve ball.Comment

Re: I need help hitting
In my brief testing years ago, increasing the Timing slider made my PCI placement more consistent. It's cerainly not a scientific observation in the least. But it was noticable.
Though reducing pitch speed to me is always the better and least invasive alternative in correcting an errant PCI.
I personally am striking out at a decent and realistic clip. Raising Timing reduces K's (as could dropping pitch speed but it's less direct to me and always the best first choice). I'm seeing a ton of weak contact. Especially of the chopper and pop up variety.
Solid Hits directly impacts that so for me, IF I end up adjusting anything, I'll start here. For me and the CPU if I end up seeing it to be fit.
We'll see...Comment

So what I did was raise solid hits and fouls from 3 to 4 in A&S's Hybrid Quick Counts set and I'm already seeing hit types that correspond better to my eye-test ideas about how I connected on certain pitches in the zone.
My Ks are good (Darvish ate me for lunch two games ago), but my average is slowly climbing and I'm seeing more doubles, which is nice. I'm going to keep posting info as I have it relative to these issues.
Thanks for the feedback, as always!Comment
