Re: MLB 10: CPU v CPU sliders

Thanks for your reply Ninjoid! I installed the game and got the 1.08 patch too. I went online and got the latest SCEA rosters. I've yet to download Knight's roster though. I thought I read somewhere that the roster set had some issues and the cpu was creating some bad lineups. Maybe I'll just go with the SCEA rosters so I can get my franchise going.
My plan is to select just one team and leave the rest of them to be controlled by the cpu. I figure this way there will be transactions and trades initiated by the AI. Is my assumption correct? I also put everything to AUTO for my team so I do not have to interact at all (pretty sad huh? I like to look at stats and watch my league develop). I am going to start out by trying to watch every game on the schedule for all teams. I'm sure I'll never be able to finish but I figured it would be a good way to see all of the parks and really get into my league. Do you go to each day on the calendar, hit X and start with the earliest game for that day and play each one out? Is this the best way to see the games for each day and play each one? I'm just curious as to how you go about it.
Anyways, I hope to get my franchise started in the next day or so. I hope to provide some feedback too. What are your stat numbers looking like compared to MLB avgs as of late? I really like the way DaiYoung provided his stats. Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy about using his sliders to start. Maybe if I see your numbers I'll be persuaded to try them. Either way, I really, really appreciated you doing all of your research. Heck, it even made me go out and buy the game....hah!!!

Re: MLB 10: CPU v CPU sliders

I tend to pick the earliest game and play through - I don't play out every game, I just wouldn't have time, I tend to select the best few games of the day and watch those. One thing to bear in mind is if you're playing every game then the out of town scoreboard on the grounds and the in-game graphics won't be updated - as the game hasn't played yet, just something to bear in mind.

I must admit I haven't gone into the depth that Dai has, but the stats are relatively close, I think somebody in this thread did do a 20 game sample or so and they were pretty realistic....the only thing I can say is that I'm more than happy with the results that they produce.

I'm sure you'll have an enjoyable cpu v cpu experience using either set.

        Pct 73

Almost dead in line with 2009 MLB numbers.

It's also good to see that the right players are attempting steals. I was concerned that with steal aggressiveness at 10 everybody would be taking off but that hasn't been the case. Slower players do occasionally attempt steals but the balance seems right.

SB leaders in my franchise (through about 16 games):

        Juan Pierre 13
        Carl Crawford 11
        Michael Bourn 9
        Jose Reyes 8
        Jacoby Ellsbury 8
        Ichiro 7
        Grady Sizemore 6
        Chone Figgins 6
        Corey Hart 6
What concerns me here is that if you play out an entire 162 game season with these numbers Juan Pierre will have just over 130 stolen bases. Is this ok?

I don't know, but I think they're the only ones.

I know this is an old thread but I figured I'd bump it.

I'm trying to decide if I want to do manage only mode or CPU vs CPU. What I've done is a fantasy draft with single team control so on manager mode I can't fix bad lineups or change uniforms. My concern with CPU vs CPU though is the computer not managing my team like I would like, especially the bullpen. With these sliders how is the bullpen managed by the CPU? Does it feel realistic?

I really want to play a franchise from the GM's perspective. I want to put my team together and just watch it play out and then make moves accordingly. CPU vs CPU sounds very interesting but I do have some concerns.

Anyone still playing CPU vs CPU games with MLB10? Can you post any stats? The playoffs have given me the urge to play/watch this game again!
