Yeah, as the year goes on I'll start looking at this current year but right now it's still so early. The only way I'll look at this year this early in the season is if I know someone's added a pitch or something. I'll always go back to last year for velocity though as guys could be going through a dead arm phase or could be throwing especially well.

Re: Pitch Edits 2015 Discussion Thread
The first number is the guy's fastball velocity in the show. If his FB velocity is different in real life it's in parentheses. His changeup velocity in real life is the next column. His changeup velocity in the show is the 3rd number column. As you can see, most of these are lower than they should be. "New CHG Vel" and "New FB Vel" are the values you need to set their changeup and fastball velocity to in order to make it realistic. If there is no number under "New FB Vel" you don't need to change that. For the guys who do need a change to both you should edit the FB velocity first.
I tried to use the 2014 numbers for guys who had a decent number of pitches thrown. When you guys do these edits do you use just the 2014 season, or do you like a 3 year average?Comment

Cool thanks for the reply man...I thought that's what they meant but the lower numbers in the New velocity columns were throwing me off.The first number is the guy's fastball velocity in the show. Re: Pitch Edits 2015 Discussion Thread
Posted on it a bit more extensively in my thread, but wanted to catch people who are looking more at this thread also. It looks like the "break" rating in game applies mostly to vertical movement - ie higher breaks drop more. This makes sense. But it looks like SCEA's (and to a lesser extent seanjeezy's 2014) changeup break ratings are weighted more towards horizontal movement. Guys with big horizontal movement end up being given huge vertical movement.
Am I just missing the effect of break on horizontal movement in game? It's not particularly apparent when looking at replays. There is some running movement on all changeups but it doesn't appear to increase with a higher break rating.
I'm on the verge of rerating every changeup in the game based almost solely on vertical movement to keep guys' pitches more true to real life.Comment

That's really interesting. I would say, I do love my over-exaggerated change-ups, but those are minor things done I can do for my own staff.Posted on it a bit more extensively in my thread, but wanted to catch people who are looking more at this thread also. Is it like that for all pitches? Including fastballs? I'm gonna have to do some experimenting tonight.Posted on it a bit more extensively in my thread, but wanted to catch people who are looking more at this thread also. Re: Pitch Edits 2015 Discussion Thread
I looked a bit at cutters/sliders/CBs and their "break" rating appeared to effect both horizontal and vertical movement.
4SFBs seem to run more with increased "break" with relatively little change in vertical movement. 2SFB/SNK seem to sink more with increased break with relatively little change in horizontal movement. I'm not sure if that's entirely consistent with how SCEA has them rated. It's a bit tougher to distinguish with fastballs because the break is not as ridiculous as with changeups. Definitely test it out and see if you're seeing the same things.Comment
