Let me start by saying when I was young there were no video games, we had dice games to satisfy our “Baseball Jones” on rainy summer days. So it was games like Strat-Omatic baseball, PTP or Pursue the Pennant and of course the first dice baseball game I ever played APBA...my favorite.

I have always ...since the beginning of The Show created fictional rosters.
My HS team ect..no reason to post them...but ..after getting knowledge of how sliders work in conjunction with the player attributes ect...thanks to all the hard work by cats like Warm Wind- Mike Lowe- and others I feel I can really create a player who “plays” like you expect him to play ( see Bacons fictional rosters).

The above is the start of my search for a really good Hollywood fictional team.
Thinking of naming team the Mudville 9

I’m semiretired and love doing this going to start soon. Hope there is an interest in this type of team....or thing..
Please feel free to add anyone that you can think of ..any player no matter how small a role please post...

Yes he was...I am adding him though..his is a story unique in that he was called up for one game ...never got to play and then he was cut.
I think he needs to be in..
I was also thinking of the greatest player not in the hall of fame also..
Shoeless Joe Jackson...tragic story banished from MLB by Mountain Landis he was relegated to ridicule and shunned . “Say it ain’t so Joe”..

At least some of the players you mention are already on the Volsfan Fictional Roster. You could download that one and give yourself a headstart on the creation process.

                  Re: Hollywood fictional team...

I might wait till 20 comes out as I’m not savvy with carrying over teams or using import export players
...I know it can be done but I’m unsure...I’m going to check here on OPS to see if someone can help..
I read that you may be able to import teams..Next year that would be sweet..
I don’t know for sure I’m going to check into it.

Check out the backstory to these two players I’ll be putting on the Mudville 9

Kazuo Uzuki and Sid Finch, both fictional players ...similar in that they were publicity stunts .
Sid Finch I remember..1985 spring training opened on April 1 fools day and writer George Plimpton wrote a fictional article about a pitcher for the NY Mets who could throw 168 mph. People were actually fooled by this and Mets fans were really waiting for this Guy.
Kazuo the Japanese pitch has a similar story behind it ...kind of neat..

                    Re: Hollywood fictional team...

I’m slowly creating players for the “Hollywood Fictional Team”.
Believe it or not I’m spending a good deal of time getting as much accurate information for attributes..height weight..likeness ect.

Some players are easier than others. For instance Bingo Long, a pitcher from the movie in the late 70’s, was actually based on the great Negro League pitcher Satchel Paige. Satchel finally got to the MLB at age 42 and was still dominant, played with the Cleveland Indians, elected to Hall of Fame in 1971.
Other players like Willie Mays Hays and Rick ‘Wild Thing’ Vaughn from movie Major League I had to use my imagination to some degree. You can be sure that Willie Mays Hays will be among the leaders in stolen bases and Vaughn will be pumping close to triple digits on the bump.

I have 6 or 7 players up on the Player Vault. Under Robcorey547. They are all in Cleveland Indian uniforms.
Trying to be era conscious in equipment ect...enjoy
