If you want to track to the level like on Nomo's spreadsheets, you'd have to collect the data from a season in your league (several seasons to capture more of the sim engine's variance) at least every so often (to capture changes in talent level, which will shift production.

Then from there, you can calculate a lot of the per-game rates that your league generates and set those as your targets. Then, you could tweak your sliders towards that.

I don't know what franchises you have, but the downside is you'd probably have to do this for every franchise as the talent levels you have are different. This might especially be true in a fantasy draft franchise and probably a near certainty in any long-term franchise/carryover franchise.

I'm about to hit summer break and may do that, if for no other reason than intellectual curiosity. I did spend a lot of time going over his data and comparing it to what I was seeing with my own test league on a fairly superficial level. But with a 2 1/2 month break coming (since I'm taking a year off of coaching football) I could really dig in a little between golfing and fishing.

My comments are in no way meant to diminish the work Nomo has done. I've loved this game since picking it up for the first time last year, to the point that I have no intention of buying either Madden or 2K for the first time in years, and a massive part of that enjoyment is owed to his sliders and the realism I get from this game compared to others.

Nomo, have you or anyone tried your latest set after the addition of the 1.11 patch? If so, what do you like or dislike?

Just noticed on your 6/2 slider set that it says +15 BLK off to the side. Does this mean you increased all catcher blocking stats by 15 in the game?

I'm viewing on the app so I'm sorry if there is a description in the box on PC but figured I would ask the question since I hadn't seen it brought up yet.

Thanks for all you do Nomo! I appreciate all the data and work you do!

In case Nomo isn't around i figured i would try to help. Yes, this means he increased at look least all active MLB catcher's blocking attributes by 15 in the game. It was mostly an experiment to try to curb some of the wild pitches seen in the game. Since all the testing continued to include it, i would do the same. Wild pitches will still be a bit high, but raising those attributes seemed to at least help a small bit.

Instead of sitting down and changing all catchers in the game all at once, i do it just before i start the first game of a series. i just simply go into both team's rosters prior to the game, and simply change the attributes of the catchers that are on be on the MLB active roster. (usually 4 catchers, 2 for each team, on the MLB roster). This takes about one minute. Then its game time.

Has anyone seen any injuries during franchise games? I played 6 games on slider 9 for injury frequency saw nothing so i bumped it up to slider 10 for 4 games and i still haven't seen any injuries. This is cpu vs cpu of course. thanks

Do you have roster control set to "on"? Do you have injuries turned on in the settings? I've read in posts in other threads where 8 is a good setting, and players are getting injured. One poster realized he had roster control turned on which he said caused his franchise not to have any injuries.

I set roster control in the beginning when i started the franchise to off and my injuries are set to on. I'll just have to be patient and believe they will come along. I trust what you say and i will look forward to keeping track of the injuries when they come. If they come too fast i'll readjust to lower them down to your suggested setting. thanks

Also, which roster are you using? I'm using the v1 hybrid and haven't yet started my season. I'm also reading that the durability attribute ratings for the players go a long way in terms of the amount of injuries we see. Maybe just as Nomo adjusted the blocking attribute for catchers to help curb wild pitches getting away so much, the durability attribute could be lowered on some players to help increase injuries. Nomo may have some interesting thoughts on this.

In the hybrid set, Jose Altuve has a durability rating of 99. Others are as low as the 40's and 50's. I'm going to roll with it and see how the injuries look across the board once I get the franchise going and my injury slider set at 8. I'll keep everyone posted as far as injuries go.

Just curious if youve seen any while simming? Unless you dont sim any and let all games play out.

I am using default rosters and and i'm watching as the new york mets alone not full teams control. I haven't simmed any games i've watched them all play out in full so no idea about that. I'm curious though if nomo has a stat for the number of injuries league wide average. I will let you know if and when i get a few injuries if that's fine. thanks

I think he has stated before that he doesn't track injuries with this set, in fact he had them turned off i believe. When i did a quasi-inspection of mlb injuries. I came up with about 2.6 DL placements per day, league-wide. As of the other day there were something like 190 DL placements, in 73 days. (2.6 per day). Which, naturally, because there are 30 teams, it comes out to 2.6 DL injuries per team, per month (30 days). This does not include minor day to day injuries. Only DL.

As far as injuries go if i don't start seeing an injury in 30 days i'm going to start dropping my teams player durability by minus 5 for each player until i start to see some injuries testing by the league wide average of 2.6 per 30 days. I'll readjust the durability as needed until i get a close average then i'll restart with a new franchise. Any thoughts or comments are welcome. thanks

With injury at 8, got a warning before last game that Matt Moore had a cold, and if he plays, there is risk of it extending the sickness. I told him to put on his big boy pants and get out there and pitch.

It did cause him to be sick for two extra days, but that falls in between starts anyway. So he should be good to go. If it had been a position player i would have rested him. Or if we weren't already hurting for starting pitching. I didn't really want to spare the personnel for a game-time scratch.

But that is my third team injury in this franchise (second one since live games started). I am 9 games into regular season.

Are you using the OSFM or the hybrid rosters? Are you pretty pleased with the number of injuries league-wise in your franchise so far with it set at 8?
