My advice - go default HOF or default Legend and NEVER, EVER look back. Act as if the game doesn't have sliders you can tweak.

MLBTS 18 isn't like the EA Sports games. Slider tuning isn't necessary IMO.

thank you! I'll have to give that a go. After stepping back from the ledge I looked at some things that I was screwing around with. My problem is this: I over-analyze everything. I want a challenge - I want realism & sim - and unfortunately I don't always remember that everything is scripted and the same. I started a new franchise with a 1995 file that Baumy300 developed and am playing with the Indians. I'm 1-2 through 3 games, but I'm having fun. I have one more thing I want to toy with but I think I'm just going to settle in and have fun... But I also thank you for the advice and I might just try a dummy franchise and take your advice. Thanks!!

      PAGE 1 / POST 1 updated - February 12, 2019.

Everything noted is what I'm using. TONS of testing - trust me, more than I care to say. These are for franchise mode (currently I'm running with a 1995 season - no injuries or trades - 30 team control and I'm personally playing all games with the Cleveland Indians).

The stats I'm getting I totally love. Patience at the plate. Pitch outside the zone. Yes, your pitchers will show a bit more fatigue, but it also adds to the necessary challenge. So again, I admit these are a bit unconventional but what I'm getting as far as realism, simulation baseball and statistics from the cpu - just having an absolute blast.

If you're using these, be sure to double-check all your numbers. And have fun. If something seems a bit too hard or easy, just use your common sense to adjust. But trust me, I've went over these with multiple settings and any little tweak seemed to throw some things off. So there's a specific purpose behind them, and there's a rationale I found while looking at multiple things that showed holes needing plugged or areas of concern that I adjusted.

Hey mk, what roster are you using when you play w/ 2018 rosters?

I'd suggest grabbing the last OSFM by Ridin. I pretty much only play with classic files so others here might have a better opinion.

Only one game in, but I loved these. I was worried about the Legend pitching, but it was fine. I actually had a better approach at the plate with the strike zone off because I wasn’t trying to make contact with everything that looked like it might cross the box on screen. I hope these transfer over well to MLBTS 19

Re: mkharsh33 MLB The Show 18 - simulation sliders

These sliders are great! Makes the feel of hitting noticeably better. I like the concept of low contact/high solid hits. Just feels a little more satisfying to connect with a pitch. The increased speed for pitches is something I havent played around with too much, but it definitely helps with the whole set here.

Adjustments I might make: might move human timing to 1, as I see myself hitting too many fouls due to being slightly late/early on a pitch -

also, is it just me, or is there just no hope what so ever for AI managers when it comes to relievers? No matter what settings I've tried, I cannot for the life of me get them to make reliever switches when they should.

The issue is - some games they're fine, but other games (like the one I just played), they'll let a reliever throw multiple innings and allow multiple runs - even with fresh arms ready for in the pen. I hope its something thats addressed/better in 19.

Thanks for the kind words of feedback. Just wanting to provide something different, but feels like a simulation baseball experience. A realistic challenge. Variety.

And what you said about relief pitching - you're spot on. No need to repeat your words or expound on them because you nailed it.

Re: mkharsh33 MLB The Show 18 - simulation sliders

So I’m using these sliders and I really like them. In my last 15 games I’m hitting about .250 with the Padres. Which is good. But my BABIP is about .315. I think it’s cause I’m striking out too much. I’m averaging about 11 strikeouts per game. I have pitch speeds at 6. I am walking about 4 times a game.

Should I raise timing by 1? But I don’t want to get more hits if that makes sense.

                  Should I lower pitch speed?

I'd first try lowering CPU PITCH CONSISTENCY - Take it down to 4 or 3 and then see what you're getting. It's funny - I'm having a bit of the same problem too. But it's like you plug one hole, and then open two. Try that though.

These look like they're right up my alley. I'm almost certain that I'll be skipping the release this year, so I may start a new franchise with the Rockies with these and see how they pan out. Love the work that's gone into this set.

I still struggled last night with strikeouts. I know what's happening - because all of the use hitting sliders are zeroed out, the yellow window of hitting the ball is very much decreased. But you can still have good swings and K.

So I decided to take that CPU pitching slider noted above here down to 1 and I'm going to try that. I don't want passed balls and wild pitches galore, but I think we'll be fine. I just can't seem to get any offense going right now - at least where I put a string together. But still, I LOVE this game and this slider set. I'm hoping this will carry over well for MLB TS 19.

I think...think...think...I've finally nailed them. Double check your slider variables. Some subtle changes, but it took away the "this is impossible" feeling to a "fun, realistic challenge" that gives plenty of game variations, and also allows for ratings to stand out.

Hope you guys using these find them enjoyable. I deeply appreciate the feedback.

I WILL be purchasing MLB TS19 on 3/26 and plan to provide a set that is similar to these for those who want a different flavor of slider sets. My deepest thanks to all of the slider creators here as I've read all of their threads and am borrowing ideas I've seen patterns given to, but also want to put my own stamp on a different perspective on hitting and pitching. Thanks!
