You go to “custom 1” then you can toggle with the right it left bumpers what camera you want to start with. I believe R2 zooms it in. Then save it [emoji1305]

I play on HOF and they work good. Only difference I made was moved fastball speed up one notch. So I have 6/5.

So how do you guys use directional hitting. I actually doing pretty good at not swinging at stupid pitches. But I always seem to hit it right at people. I make solid contact too. Any tips?

I am on All-Star+ as the Padres and also have been using the clean screen settings others and you reccomend, but wanted your input on something.

Currurently I am 22-18 and leading all of baseball in pitching strikeouts, and pitching walks (least walks allowed). I also lead in opposing BA.

Now this changes significantly when they get into my bullpen but Darvish, Snell, Lamet, and Clevinger are racking up the Ks.

          Darvish: 13:29 K/9
          Snell: 11.43 K/9
          Lamet: 12.64 K/9
          Clevinger: 14.12 K/9
          Musgrove: 7.18 K/9
          Paddack (as a RP): 8.54 K/9

My RPs are all between 5 and 8 K/9 except for Pomeranz who is at 10.11 K/9. All of the ERAs are fine

They also all have low BB/9 rates as well. Should I move up to Hall of Fame and keep the sliders the same or increase CPU contact/timing/solid hits? Or maybe decrease a user pitching setting?

          Thanks in advance!
Patience; we're still early stages. It usually takes a week or two to break the game in and get our baseline.

I suggest ramping up to AS+ in the meantime (HOF isn't really a good option for a true ratings-based style).

We'll obviously need to make some tweaks as well; but we're treading slowly.

Gotcha. Thanks! Do those K/9s sound abnormal to you? My SPs ERAs are between 2.79 - 5.20 but their K/9 is high. However my bullpen blows and has ERAs from like 4.26 - 15.40+ and low K/9. Could just be the case of good pitchers (starters) and bad pitchers (bullpen). I will keep it on the current settings amd let it ride for another 2 months in game and get back to you. Thanks again!!!

Re: JoshC1977's "Maximize Player Ratings" MLB 21 Sliders

Just got done with a marathon of a game vs the Rockies. Ended up losing 3-2 in 15. Both teams had 18 K's lol. It was a beautiful pitching game for both teams. I'm still beyond rusty at hitting. Darvish went 7, allowed 3 hits, 2 BB, and had 6 K's. Marquez went 7, allowed 5 hits, 1 run, and had 10 K's.

Man just wanted to do a quick game before bed and now I'm up until 2am lol. Good night fellas.

I can confirm after 4 games with these hat the sliders play really really well on HOF. Josh I know you’re more of an all star all star plus kinda guy but you should test them out a few games.

Beiber threw 120 pitches against me the other day on 8 innings.

Updated Please disregard, I just googled this extra inning rule and found it is part of the real MLB.
I haven't been able to keep up much with MLB games the past few years, didn't know this was a thing lol.

man i'm so excited to be able to play the show again now on XBOX, haven't played since 2015 or 16 when I traded in my XBOX One and PS4 for the Xbox one X.

                  Josh,
I have a question, I just played my first preseason game and went into extra innings and noticed once I hit extra inning the game goes into extra inning rules where they will place a runner on 2nd, is there a way to turn this feature off? or is this how the game is?

                  Thanks

You can disable that right before you start up your franchise. I’m sure there is a way to turn it off once you start the season too but I’m not 💯 positive on that. I turned it off because I absolutely despise it.

They're high for sure - especially for SPs. More importantly, it's data from an extended sample size that jives with observations.

But how does moving up to HOF resolve anything? For me, the issue isn't lack of challenge, the issue is that the pitcher-hitter balance is slightly skewed towards pitching and it's global on both sides. IMO, going to HOF is taking a sledgehammer to the game when you only need a little tack hammer. Now, if you've been blowing away the CPU on AS/AS+, then yes, going to HOF may be an option FOR YOU. But if it is more a manner of just improving the run-scoring environment, then changing difficulty isn't the solution long-term. We need to improve the hitting in a ratings-based manner without dumbing-down the game by lowering pitching sliders.

I'm getting close to a testable setup and I'm hoping it will coincide with a restoration of the roster vault so we can all just dive into the game.

Well it didn’t take long for me to cave in. Despite my own promise to myself that I wasn’t going to buy the new version of the show I did yesterday. However, I bought the show 21 for PS4. I’m wondering if the PS4 and PS5 versions play differently than one another enough to affect sliders, difficulty’s, etc?

I don't believe so. I think the only thing that may be 'different' is a pitch speed setting (which is already a personal preference) due to frame rate differences.

Initially I was in the same camp. Wasn’t going to buy 21 (also on PS4).

But it really is fantastic, and I can’t wait to get going on a franchise!

You guys on the PS4....just FYI, if you download a roster from the vault, it probably is still just the SDS live roster, not an edited one. On Next Gen, we're getting an error message so we know we cannot get the vault files.
