Questions about the edited RidinRosters you mentioned. I always use RidinRosters and end up driving myself crazy restarting when they release an update. I’m trying to avoid that this year. How big a deal would you say your edits are? Worth restarting my franchise?Comment

I can’t answer on Josh’s hard work but I would say if you plan on only playing a year or two with the franchise than it’s probably isn’t worth it. I believe you won’t see the full effects of Josh’s work until year 3 and beyond.Follow me on Twitch

I usually shoot for as many seasons as possible, but end up around 3 or 4. Mainly because I eventually get bored with the games bare bones franchise mode.Comment

JoshC1977's "Maximize Player Ratings" MLB 21 Sliders
So far I’ve played 16 games with my San Francisco giants on All star plus. We’re 14-2. My team is batting .277 and has an era of 3.35. My only gripe is it seem the cpu can never really make solid contact most of my games my starters are going 5 innings with only allowing 1 or 2 hits. I don’t want to have to go up to hall of fame

But with less than 10 months left in this cycle before '22 likely launches, playing through the 650 games to get through 4 seasons is already pushing it. Entirely up to you.Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.Comment

Re: JoshC1977's "Maximize Player Ratings" MLB 21 Sliders
I would say it could be worth starting over. It will help in year 1 with SOME of the wonky CPU vs CPU trades (not all, but some) as there are far fewer high potential players.

Josh -
I have three questions in regards to budgeting & sponsorship when only controlling one team & GM contracts on: Do you add sponsorships to the one team that you are controlling or do you leave it alone? Also - I’ve never done GM contracts on as I’ve only controlled one team but as a 30 team control - how do the budgets play out globally for every team? Are there any discrepancies for teams like the Yankees & Dodgers that have big payrolls that are no longer able to afford their players? Thank you Josh in advance as I value your insight.Comment

Budgets - I'll be honest, I don't even pay attention to what happens to the CPU. My focus in franchise is on my team, not "building a universe".
The only time I worry about what happens to the AI is when I am in trade negotiations with them; I examine a trade from both perspectives and ensure that the deal makes sense from both sides (if not, I adjust the deal or move on). I also will not be using the trade finder this year given how bad the logic is currently. I will manually scout through other teams to examine possible deals and offer those that make sense.
I do very little 'maintenance' as well. I will do passes through AI rosters in the off-season and will make position edits for AI teams if I feel they are 'stacked' at a lineup spot and aren't able to get a bat in the lineup.Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.Comment

Re: JoshC1977's "Maximize Player Ratings" MLB 21 Sliders
Ok. I’m not really far in my first season. 16 games because I waited on RidinRosters and sliders to purchase the game. The restarts I do every year are a little maddening. I may just roll with it. Any players I could edit myself to help or would that be too much trouble for you to provide.
And I totally acknowledge the frustration that goes with re-starting. Here's my thought. Take 20-30 mins and run a 3-4 year sim with the Ridin rosters (everything under AI control) and see how it shakes out. If you're OK with things, you'll know if you want to stick with your existing chise. If you don't like what you see, you will have a more informed reason as to if you should re-start or not. We all have different 'pinch points' of things that bug us....what bugs me may not bug you.Play the games you love, not the games you want to love.Comment

I don't have a list; but I edited potentials of close to 15-20 players PER TEAM.
