Re: Official MLB Power Pros 2008 thread!
That's what I've been doing, or editing players no longer on teams.
Example:
-Went to MY DATA. Went to the Texas Rangers, I wanted to make Chris Davis, so I just edited Metcalf who hasn't played that much and made him as close to Chris Davis as possible and saved. Then went to went to Arrange Mode. Went to the created Arranged Rangers team. Went to Fielders, had the created Rangers on top, and the original Rangers on bottom, they will be all grayed out, except for the newly created Davis. Then you can swap out the old Metcalf for the new Davis.
It's not perfect, but it's a work around to get the rosters close to accurateComment

Re: Official MLB Power Pros 2008 thread!
I picked this up today!! Haven't gotten home yet to play it though.
As someone who hasn't played a baseball game since the Atari 2600, and knows virtually nothing about the real sport, how hard will this game be to get into? The manual looks pretty intense and spends time going over things I have no idea about.
Also, are any of the game's franchise or season modes co-op?Comment

Re: Official MLB Power Pros 2008 thread!
Hey Duke - How can I get an extra sub lineup spot for batters?
For example the yankees only have 3 sub spots under BENCH in the ROLE Section for FIELDERS, under SET LINEUP.
How do you expand the number of fielders either in Arrange Mode, or even in MY DATA so the benc is more. I got guys sitting over in the minor section, but how do you expand the fielders so the benci adds more players?
Thanks in advance.
EDIT: AHHH NEVERMIND, just needed to remove a pitcher to got another roster spot anywhere. Everytime I think PP is gonna have a limitation here and there, BAM it doesn't!!! nice work PP2008!!!Last edited by falcons2003; 07-30-2008, 10:08 PM.Comment

Re: Official MLB Power Pros 2008 thread!
I haven't seen a way to do it...I don't think you can because I picked one team and it automatically moved on, but I do not have 2 controllers and I'm not sure if that matters or not, but I don't think it's possible.Comment

Re: Official MLB Power Pros 2008 thread!
I really never tried it out so I'm not sure, but I'm guessing it means that if you sim the season they won't take him out, or if someone gets hurt and the CPU changes the line up around(I'm not sure if they do that in this game) they will keep that player in that spot in the order. I'm not sure if it's in arrange mode or not, but if it is it probably will be when the CPU changes the line up they will keep him in that spot in the order.Comment

If you play season mode and choose to be an expansion team do you select players from the other teams to fill your roster or just fake players?Comment

Re: Official MLB Power Pros 2008 thread!
you can either choose to just go with "randoms", or chose "Dream Draft" where you pick your players from the current MLB teamsComment

Re: Official MLB Power Pros 2008 thread!
still trying to find a nice balance of user and CPU settings.
Im having a tough time generating offense so far, perhaps its because I have played both my games mets vs the yankees, and Wang just induces ground ball after groundball.
I got a major kick out of that by the way. thats exactly what Wang does. He had 3 k's, 15 of his 27 outs were ground ball outs as he pitched a 2 hit shutout on me, while Pedro was gassed after 5. He actually had to leave in the 4th with an injury
Ive settled on semi-auto fielding, where I do the throwing, I just cannot manually field in this game, and I have CPU hitting on expert, which makes the big hitters more dangerous: I gave up a solo jack to Abreu and a granny to Giambi.
I just need to now figure out how to generate some dang offense!Comment

Re: Official MLB Power Pros 2008 thread!
Try messing around with the batter locks. The higher the number, the better your chance of hitting the sweet spot on the bat. I also suggest using auto or semi-auto baserunning. That's just a personal preference of mine because I make some boneheaded baserunning blunders from time to time.Goozex

Re: Official MLB Power Pros 2008 thread!
I've been using smei-auto for both fielding and baserunning for a while now. I like that I still have some control, but without it I was making too many mistakes due to the controls.
For the PS2 I've been messing with the lock-on for batting. The movement is definitely less smooth than the Wii. With lock on set to 3 I can still make good contact at times, but it's not so easy that I'm cranking out 17 hits a game. On the Wii I had the lock on at 1 or 2.
I never noticed this in last years game, but last night I shattered a bat on a hit. The little things this game does really helps to draw you in. I never thought I'd see the roof on MIller Park open AND closed in the same baseball title. In the past it's always been on e or the other, but I swear I've seen both in Power Pros.Comment
