What about playing against a human in season mode. Pre PS2 you could only play against the computer?

    <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

There is a 2 player season mode.

Actually it's pretty cool! (There are many ways to play this game)
I tried it out first thing(turned out to be a mistake). I created myself as a SS and chose the Orioles(Yankees already have Jeter). After the first 5 games of spring training I was hitless. After that game I was told I would not be around unless I had the game of my life in the final spring game.(You get an update of how the coaches think you are doing after each game...Batting and fielding...
Anyways it's pretty fun. I guess that's the main thing with the game, even with some slight faults it is a fun game.

Skyboxer, can you move on and have an entire career in the majors?

Yep. In spring training mode your job is to get signed by the team after training. There is another career mode that just bypasses the spring traing mode and you start your career in the majors.
