Yea this was a huge problem I had with ASB 04. I remember hitting a routine fly to center and watching Roger Cedeno crouch for 6 seconds, then sprint 4 feet to get to the ball just in time to dive and appear to catch the ball with his left foot. Spectacular.

Yeah, something ASB has always done is that the CPU fielders don't break for the ball until the last possible second.

Doesn't affect gameplay, but it sure looks awkward.

That was a problem last year that I think everyone just hated to see. Generally we like to see dives only when their necessary, it seems like it was forced sooo many times, as seen in that long pause before the fielders actually moved to get the ball. As Pared said earlier, the quick response to the crack of the bat needs to be implemented to add more realism to the overall fielding experience.

I dont know, I certainly seen that shoe string catch more than the regular dive. It did'nt bother me at all though. I guess its on the same level as the crouch.

I dunno, I didnt really mind the crouch as much as this. It just was so repetitive some games to see the fielders react late, not only on diving catches and long runs to the ball, but also on home run balls. I'd rather see the outfielders give it their all on home run balls that appear catchable, chasing it down like its another long fly ball. Crouching is gradually goin away but it doesnt bother me as much as the fielding delay.
