Wow! A bit harsh, no? Actually, most of the die-hard ASB and ESPN guys don't love the game, but do admit it is a good, solid offering that plays a darn good game of baseball. Not sure why it is so important for only one game to be considered a success?????

I hope ASB rocks...I love having choices. I'd hate to have only one game worth playing and keeping my attention all summer. I love MVP..and on the pc with mods to come, it will hold me all year. But I do hope ASB comes in like a lion and I can find enjoyment with it as well.

We all win when more than one game succeeds...

I think MVP is an awesome game and I hated last years version. I still I will like ASB better for the reasons in my first post. Either way, I think all the BB games will be good this year.

I have been playing ASB for a few years now and I absolutely love it. Love the accuracy of the ballparks, uniforms, etc. Love the expansion mode and all of the franchise opitons as well. So it should be no suprise that I pre-ordered 05 and can't wait for it to get in...

But I also like having a PC game so I picked up MVP last night. I was pleasantly suprised! It was a fun game. I really enjoy the pitching. I can't hit worth a squat right now, but it is still a very good game. I suggest for people to just give it a try if they can. What can it hurt. Now I have a game for the PC and one for the Xbox (when ASB gets to me) and I shall be a happy baseball fan!

                  Re: After playing MVP........................

I think all the complaints about MVP are just stupid. Every game has glitches, and ASB will too. I picked up MVP, because I needed a baseball fix NOW. I am still going to get ASB, but MVP seems to be worth the $50 so far.
The pitching game is the best out there by far. When your pitcher gets tired, you know it, and you have to change the way you pitch.
Since this is an ASB forum, enough of the MVP talk...
I really can't wait for ASB. I thought it was the best game last year (I owned every title last year except MVP), and I believe it will be the best imo again this year. Besides for only having 10 minor league players at each level, ASB captures everything about the game of baseball. Now that the default hitting is no longer cursor based, I think I will be able to enjoy ASB even more this year.
Stop complaining about what is wrong with these games, and point out the positives. Lets just all be grateful that we have so many great games to choose from.

I was totally against any EA baseball title, thanks to the Triple Play series, I never even played MVP 2003. I owned ASB, HH, and WSB last year and ASB was my favorite of the bunch.
I got caught up in the hype this year and have said all along that I will purchase MVP for the PS2 and ASB for the XBOX.
MVP is a great game, I'm hoping ASB can make it 2 for 2. If it's anything like last year with some minor upgrades and tweaks then I will be satisfied.

Why would you care which game is better? Wouldnt you just want to get the best game out there no matter what game it is? Also if you read the impressions thread, the majority of posts are positive.

Like SoMiss I am quite happy with MVP, and really haven't seen the framerate problems. There is occasional choppines, but it doesn't affect the game. I have noticed a couple of things that Farias noted. But they really haven't taken away from my enjoyment of the game. However that's neither here nor there.

3 more major baseball game releases to go, I am sure that there will be something for everyone.

Hopefully ASB will be a quality product so mlblover here won't commit hari khari.

Bottom line, their should be a title that fits everyones needs this year, which is a good thing, because I know lots of people, myself included, who just couldn't find the baseball game that kept their attention last year.

Exactly. I agree with Somiss and BK. MVP is a very good game that challenges even the most diehard of baseball fans. I've had a harder time winning in this than I have any other baseball game before (including ASB). The framerate issue is hardly noticeable. With that said, I'm still getting ASB and ESPN like I planned on doing at the very beginning of baseball season and I hope one of these will fulfill my baseball need.

MLB - I don't see why you care what people think about MVP. It is a game. This isn't the 1st or 2nd time you've slammed it either. I get the impression that all you want is to hear praise for ASB and hear negatives about the rest of the games to further backup what you are going to purchase. Not cool man. Just let it go and let others enjoy the game they got and you can enjoy the game you get . It serves no purpose to gloat at those that don't feel the same as you or don't want to play the same game as you etc...

I'm sure ASB will be a good game, but don't fool yourself. It will have problems and bugs like every other game. It has every other year. It's just a matter of what you think you can deal with...
