I think "best" is subjective. If their reviewers' tastes are similar to yours, then yes, they are the "best" to you.

No. Its the best. No doubt about it.

If they gave it a ten, then they'll do what they did with MVP and not note any of the negatives, and in other games, if they reviewed it and gave it a bad score, they'd try to find things to say as a negative.

Like I said, I can't take anything serious from EGM after their reviews. They didn't mark gameplay, which is my biggest ? mark in ASB. Instead they marked nonsense so that leaves me to believe that they didn't do a good review. I would've been okay with 6.0-7.0 or something with better reasons, but a 5.0 with fielder cam and pitch speed gripes, not to mention "inaccurate" batting stances is not what I'm looking for. Sure that's what some people want to hear, but not all are going to get suckered in.

And to help put things in perspective, while ASB is getting marked down in EGM for the Fielder's Cam, here's what was said about the objectively awful First-Person Cam in WSB, ranging from...

An acquired taste?? I haven't seen such great spin outside of politics.

Every year with baseball games, every reviewer seems to have their mind made up first, then writes the review to prove that opinion correct.

If only reviews didn't have such obvious factual errors and double standards, nobody in this particular forum could complain because it would be just arguing seemingly well-formed opinions.

Well, some things are just opinion. But some things are not.

For instance... The comment about the player faces and stances being "off" just forces me to question the whole review. I mean, it's so obviously not true.

Also, if you'll notice, nowhere in the raving ESPN review does it mention anything (good or bad) about the accuracy of the player models and animations.

One more thing, you want to mark batting stances that are off, let's look at MVP, one that's noticeable is Brian Giles's stance in the game, if you've seen him on TV, he's crouched with his knees bent and an open stance, in MVP, it's a normal stance with him kinda of bent (Not the BENT stance) with his knees straight. But unlike EGM, I'm not letting it affect me so why should stances affect them playing it?
