Re: IGN review is up!
For the past couple of months(actually since the NFL 2k4 review) i have stopped trusting IGN for reviews on sports games. Not that i cared for their score on the game but the way they review the games nowadays. I understand that they need to try to get the review out early but they dont put enough time into the game to give it a justified score. videogame Sports reviews are not like playing any other genre of videogames. It consist of certain elements that need to be found right from the time you boot up the game and play it. Fundamentals, execution and then the shiny new things(franchise, features etc.). I will be getting this game just on my own personal view on how i liked last years game but thought that if they fixed certain things the game would be great. So far its been 2 - 3 weeks(correct me if i'm wrong) that MVP has been out and to me all the reviews were rushed and not have enough play time to justify the reviews or point out the serious problems. My personall opinion so far on the 2 baseball games out is the MLB beats MVP on the fundamentals of the game and has less issues to deal with(except for check swing lol). That doesnt mean MVP isn't a good game but it just has more annoying issues for me then MLB has. Take it as you will. Buy or rent the game and test it out for yourself. Your view on a game compared to a "professional" game reviewer is very different and will never evvvverr be the same. I like fundamentals more the AA, AAA, spring training create yourself options.
So Far
1. MLB
2. MVPSirius "U"
Marvel Heroes: willthebill
GW2: willthebill.9712
Diablo 3: willthebill#1834

The review stated "even on the highest difficulty level" the pitch speed was slow. Difficulty level does not determine pitch speed. I just don't think they know there is a seperate option for it.

He did'nt say the highest difficulty level, he said....

Even at the highest speed option, however, pitches don't seem to whip in with enough force.

I think he knows that there are different levels of pitch speed. Not a big deal, why is everyone getting so irritated? I was'nt planning on getting the game, but I'm definently thinking about giving it a try after reading that review. I don't think it's a bad review at all.Comment

Re: IGN review is up!
It wasn't a bad review other than the fact that he spent way too much time griping about fielder cam and didn't even mention online play. The part about ASB being the Inside Drive of baseball games was all I needed to know. I'm sure I'll love this game.Comment

Re: IGN review is up!
The thing I would have the biggest problem with the review is this...
</font><blockquote><font class="small">Quote:</font><hr />
Now, that's either a great compliment to the depth of the game or a slap in the face to fielder cam, I haven't decided yet. Fielding is such an important aspect of every contest that it really negatively affects my overall take on an otherwise enjoyable game. Some people might like the new challenge the camera provides, but I for one don't. The more you play, the more you get used to it, but that never makes the mode fun and in the end takes away from the overall experience.
<hr /></blockquote><font class="post">
Are you guys absolutely positive that you can turn 'Fielder Cam' off? Have you seen that somewhere or are just guessing that you can turn it off? He sure as hell makes it sound like 'Fielder Cam' is the only option. If you can turn it off, then not mentioning that fact is a huge error in his review.Comment
