I'm starting to not like Smart Counts anymore. My pitchers get tired WAY too soon. When I wasn't using them, I threw a 3-hitter with Tim Hudson, but all of my other starters get tired after 3 innings work. I got beat 15-3 my last game, against the Mariners.

what level do you guys play at were you see a decent number of walks by the CPU? Part of the problem is me swinging at everything, but its because everything looks like a strike

I am also very impatient at the plate, and the only way I'll ever walk is with generated counts. I would never be able to watch 4 pitches go by. But when I step up to the plate with a 3-0 count and my #9 batter, there is some incentive to take a pitch or two. With the random count, I would get a couple walks if I was patient. With smart counts I got 15 walks in one game when the CPU went midevil on the Tampa pitchers.....that was a bit much and I gave up on the smart counts. Now I am using 2-1 counts, and I can draw a few walks if I am patient...which I am usually not ofcourse.
I know that you like the leisurely pace of the game and avoid the generated counts, but you may want to give them a try if you haven't already.Comment
