two questions about this years batting system

1.i am using the batting system in the demo,now,it doesnt matter what time you push back to set your batter does it?i remember last year you had to do it when the pitcher was releasing,but i think this year,it doesnt matter when you set your batter,im I correct?

2.where are the check swings?and if thier in the game,how do you do them,if i know how to check swing,i will never strike out,its rare that i do right now
