I MAY purchase the game after I finish my season with the other game. It would otherwise be a definite purchase, but I am waiting on how guys feel about no check swing in the game. I believe this is going to lead to a lot of frustration and I want to hear everyones take on it. If check swings haven't been removed from CLASSIC swings (and I haven't heard this confirmed yet), then a definite buy for me, otherwise I'm going to listen to this forum for feedback on how much the lack of it frustrates gamers.

This is the exact feeling I have as well. Will be a definite purchase for my PC if the game-play is decent, and check swings are in. It will be tough for me to wrap my head around a purchase if they are not.

I asked about this many times if its still on Button control but havent found out anything .
Doesnt anyone think something bad happened for them to not include checkswings ?
I mean its a huge my gameplay in drawing walks .

I won't be fooled into buying this day one for the 3rd year in a row. Definitely going to wait to see what editor/user reviews are like.

After seeing some of the vids, screen shots and reading Chris's write up I may have to check this out.

THe MLB Today feature is single greatest feature in ALL sports games. NBA 2k10 did an outstanding job with it. And I think with the amount of stats, Lefty vs. Right, RISP, Full count, 2 - 2 w/ man on, etc... this could be done really well.

I'm looking forward to reading more info as it comes out.

Cautiously optimistic is a good way to put it. I'll wait at least 2-3 weeks after release to read reviews and read the forums before I actually purchase it.

I don't need an All-Star title, but if they fix the problems from 2K9 and tweak a few other things, I think we might have a solid baseball title. That's really all I'm asking for.

If it's terrible like it was last year (IMO), I'll fire up the original XBox and play MVP.

ok guys we get it. Check swings are out, kinda silly I know but, it is what it is. overall this game sounds and looks 2x better than last seasons game. 40 man roster, Sept call ups, AA, AAA teams, full customization. WOW if most/all the bugs are fixed this game will be a freaking awesome game.

I'll think about grabbing it when the put check swings back in. Why in the world would they take that out??? For a franchise that's trying to get itself together it seems counter productive to "take things out" of the game...they should be going the other way. And if the reasoning behind eliminating the check swing is that it screws up the hitting mechanics maybe they should work on getting that part right WITH a check swing option. I can't think of a logical reason why they would do that (eliminate checks)...there have been baseball games in the past where you weren't able to check swing and I stopped playing them because of the frustration that it caused. Not sure what would entice me to buy this game knowing that in advance....very disappointing.

I'll buy day one; I do not have a PS3 and have no other option. MLB Power Pros 2008 on the Wii is my backup. If 2K10 is awful (and I don't think it will be) I'll return it immediately for in-store credit or exchange.

Well, I ended up pre ordering it yesterday. Not because of the hype, but because it'll only be a $25 risk now. I had some games that I haven't played in months, and never planned on playing them again, so I traded them in. Only reason I'm doing this is because I owe about $15 to blockbuster, so I'm not about to pay that off to rent the game, and there are no games I'll be interested in for another 7 months(and by that time I'll be broke due to college ).

As of now maybe a late season pickup or if the other game still has Pitcher Confidence issues I will look into it sooner if its more a slider based game but I cant find any new info on 2k gameplay.

I'll have my buddy rent it using his gamefly account first for some extended play. If I like it, I'll purchase it myself. Bought it the first day every year it was out on 360. Not this year.

No edge for me, it's a definite buy. I expect the reviews to be overly negative like they are every year about anything 2k, so I take those with a grain of salt.

Let's be honest here, 2Ksports has released great basketball games over the years, but their hockey and baseball especially have fallen by the wayside. And since when was there a "2Ksports conspiracy" theory? This company was the absolute favorite going into this generation. They earned the criticism all on their own.
