Re: MLB 2K10 Official "My Player" Thread
Yesterday, my 3rd baseman had a 7 RBI game!
I hit a grand slam, a 2 run HR and a double with a man on second.
That gives me 5 HR in the big leagues so far (25 games or so).Comment

Re: MLB 2K10 Official "My Player" Thread
Just finished my first spring training and despite hitting .330, with a .423 average with RSIP I was sent back to AA. My slugging and OPS were below the targets set in AA during my first season (the only targets not met) so I assume that's why.Comment

Re: MLB 2K10 Official "My Player" Thread
I think I'm going to increase the difficulty again . . .
I'm at work, but I'm currently sporting around a .350 avg with a .500+ obp. Fantastic stats and all, but it's a bit over the top. I can't imagine how my stats will be next year with all the points earned. Is anyone already 90+ in all areas except bunting?
EDIT: Also, I wanted to add that I notice myself concentrating a lot more than I normally would when controlling the whole squad. I only have so many opportunities to have an impact on a game. I'm glad 2K went this route, gives you a different perspective on the game. I guess one you lose touch of when you haven't played ball in quite some time.Last edited by reo; 03-08-2010, 04:18 PM.Comment

My boy Sammy is struggling at .230. Every time his team depends on him he just can't pull it together. I refuse to drop the difficulty though. One thing I love is the stats overlays. As Sammy approached the plate, I was reminded that it had been 8 games since he had an RBI.Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.Comment

Are you currently on legend? That's my next step. Hopefully, it takes me down 25 to 50 points. We'll see how the next 15-30 games go for me. Otherwise, it's slider tweaking time. At least we have that option! I realize it's all a small sample size for baseball, but I doubt the majority of us have the ability to play 10-20 seasons for proper accountability. My boy Sammy is struggling at .230. Re: MLB 2K10 Official "My Player" Thread
Just finished my rookie season with the Giants. CF Cobb's (73 OVR) stats:
Minors: 22 games, .395 AVG, .432 OBP, .604 SLG, 1.037 OPS, 9 2B, 2 3B, 2 HR, 15 RBI, 13 R, 5 B, 10 K, O SB
Majors: 85 games, .339 AVG, .376 OBP, .564 SLG, .937 OPS, 12 2B, 4 3B, 17 HR, 51 RBI, 29 R, 17 B, 48 K, 5 SB
2nd in ROY voting (MIL, Escobar). 3 ROTW, 3 ROTM
I (SF) tied for the wildcard with NY Mets and had a 1 game playoff which I won.
Division Series was won 3 - 2 vs. PHI.
LCS was won 4-1 vs. ARI.
World Series was won 4-2 vs. CWS.
That's right! World Series Champs. Thanks in no part to me as I choked for the majority of the playoffs. Don't worry about spoilers for a World Series cut scene or celebration as there is none to speak of. A simple message that states you have won the World Series and accomplished a team and HOF goal is all you're going to get. Rather disappointing to say the least.
Postseason: 16 games, .200 AVG, .212 OBP, .354 SLG, .566 OPS, 1 2B, 0 3B, 3 HR, 4 RBI, 5 R, 1 B, 13 K, 0 SBLast edited by lenvlade; 03-08-2010, 06:58 PM.Comment

Re: MLB 2K10 Official "My Player" Thread
San Fran was right around .500 when I joined them in early July. They sat 3rd behind L.A. and Arizona. We were 3-9 after I joined the team but went on a 12 game win streak in August to pass up L.A. for 2nd place. We could not catch Arizona for the division but were in the thick of the Wild Card race for the last two months and wound up tied with the Mets. A one game playoff got us into the postseason and the rest I have explained. Pretty fun minus the lack of any celebration.Comment

Re: MLB 2K10 Official "My Player" Thread
I first started MyPlayer as a SP, and boy is it difficult. The majority of the time your manager leaves you in the whole game regardless of the score, and doesn't even bother to do any mound visits. Hope this gets fixed in a patch. I really enjoy the pitching in this game and I was thinking about how fun it would be to play MyPlayer as a SP. I will create a new file and become a closer.
On the other hand, I created a SS, and I am loving it. Very addicting.
I had the other game last year, and decided to come back to 2k. Good to be back.Comment

Re: MLB 2K10 Official "My Player" Thread
Has anybody gotten to free agency yet? I would like to know how that works? Do you have to go through arbitration years? Also, can you ask to get traded or is it random, or is it even possible to get traded?Comment

Re: MLB 2K10 Official "My Player" Thread
Unless you go on an absolute tear in ST, chances are that you won't make the club out of ST.I've been invited up to my MLB club for spring training but I imagine I won't stay there.
Question for anyone who is still in the minors during season 2...do your stats carry over from the first season or do you start fresh? I ask because at this point I just don't see myself every completing the .400 slugging % goal unless they reset.
In season 2 the stats are career based... in other words, you'll continue from where Season 1 left off, sadly. I was like you with my SS for SFO and despite being 73 overall, I couldn't get the stats up to the desired level with any consistency. I did find, however, that with the stats within 4 or 6 points to what they were asking for, I tried to sim past 3 games to get to the training drill and I got the call on May 2 after it simmed past one game.
And once I made it to the Show things turned for me in a big way. After going 0-for-4 in my debut, I'm hitting 5th in the lineup with a .330 average and almost 10 RBI's in the first week.
Keep your chin up... you'll make it.Comment

Re: MLB 2K10 Official "My Player" Thread
The AI won't trade you but you can request a team change. I tinkered with it with one file and think you can only request one trade. Don't know if that's once per year or once per career, but that's the only way you'll get traded.... and it's to the team of your choice.Comment

Re: MLB 2K10 Official "My Player" Thread
I've read several people mentioning that when playing as a pitcher, you usually play 9 innings except for when you get shelled. Also, I've seen a lot of stat lines when people play the whole game, allows 10-12 hits but no runs scored. Can you guys corroborate this? Frankly, this would substract quite a lot from the realism of the mode.Comment
