Re: MLB 2K10 Official "My Player" Thread
My man Leonard Washington made it to the bigs in 8 games to play for the Cardinals. I have won my first 5 starts already and things are looking up! I keep hearing people talk about never getting pulled from a game but if I am struggling in the 8 or 9th I have been pulled many times without even giving up a run. I'm just guessing it is the brilliant mind of Tony La Russa doing his job.Cubs (Completely Useless By September)Comment

What's the longest it's taken someone to get promoted? I'm on game 38 and nothing. Granted me AVG. is .270, my OBP is just above .300 but that is above the goals and I have all of my stats done so I'm hoping any day now.Follow me for live wrestling tweets @molarmiteComment

If you fulfill all the goals, you'll be called up immediately.Comment

Re: MLB 2K10 Official "My Player" Thread
I'd say my relief pitcher is probably one of the longest ones to get called up, at 4 years and counting, despite being a 76 OVR now.
Honestly, at least for a relief pitcher, if you can't get called up within two years, you're pretty much screwed.
After such a long period of time, it's nearly impossible to get career WHIP and career opponents' BA low enough to get called up, no matter how good you are. In year 3 and 4, I blew 4 saves combined out of 70-something, and won 3 of those 4 games anyway. My ERA was below 1 each of those years, and yet because I put guys on base occasionally (mostly because of horrible fielding at this point*), and because my season 1 WHIP and batting average were horrendous, it's been literally impossible to lower them enough. If you're going to go by career numbers, which is stupid anyway, at least vary the targets over the years.
*I'm sorry, but when a 2B or SS repeatedly lets a grounder right past them, or runs towards a bloop fly, only to get right next to the ball and stop in place, then start running to the outfield to be the cutoff man, it shouldn't affect my pitcher's ability to get called up. I realize this is at least partially because the minor league fielders' ratings suck, but still. At least in Spring Training every year, they make those routine plays.Comment

Re: MLB 2K10 Official "My Player" Thread
Starting to heat up! 10 games into the third season, I'm hitting .500, with 2 homers, and 11 RBI's. I had my best game of the season a couple games ago, I went 5-5 with 6 RBI's, two doubles, a homer, and two singles. I absolutely racked up the skill points, but in the eighth inning I had to go, so I saved and quit. I came back after school, finished the game, and I only got the skill points that I got after the 8th inning. Bummer, considering I would have had 500+. Still awesome, however.
My rating is 78 now. :]Comment

Re: MLB 2K10 Official "My Player" Thread
Curious... are you still in AA or have you been promoted to AAA in those 4 years?
I've tried different positions only to find that I've continued to be buried in AA due to statistics not being in order.Comment

I'm nearing my 60th game and still haven't been promoted. I've met all of my ratings goals, but my BA and SLG aren't where they need to be.Comment

Re: MLB 2K10 Official "My Player" Thread
I just finished my first year in AA as a 1B/3B prospect. I kept my left handed power number below 60 so I wouldn't get the call up. I am playing it as they don't want to rush their prospects. I hit .308 with 9 HR's and 58 RBI's. I hit 3rd in the lineup the majority of the time. I kicked up my left handed power number to 60 after playing my last AA game (playoff loss - first round). I was invited to spring training and am playing there now.Comment

Hehehe, third year, I'm literally running the Show.
Stats, bolded if leading MLB, italicized if leading NL: 16 GP, .515 AVG, 35 H, 12 2B's, 3 3B's, 19 RBI's, 3 HR's, 60 TB's, .535 OBP, .882 SLG, 1.418 OPS.
I'm finally hitting my stride, in my third season. Better late then never, no?Comment

Re: MLB 2K10 Official "My Player" Thread
So I started as a Catcher for the Mariners, and after completing all my goals, I get called up to the MLB in jut 24 games in AA
Then my first game and in my 2ND at-bat I hit a freaking Grand Slam!
(Granted, it was against the Royals, but still!) Things are looking up!
