Re: MLB 2K11 Official "My Player" Thread

Just got this game last week, created a SP for the Nationals organization (I'm really a Red Sox fan but wanted to play for an NL team so I can bat). Went 6-4 my first year in AA with a 2.95 ERA, then got invited to spring training where I was 0-2 in 5 starts with a 4.11 ERA (had two starts against the Phillies and 1 against the Yankees fwiw). Starting '12 back in AA, so far I have made 3 starts with a 2-1 record and have given up just 1 run in 20.2 innings.

Anyway, had a question. Does anyone know if there's a setting where you can watch the game while your player isn't in it? I'd like to be able to do this in the majors for playoff games if my team ever makes it that far.

Is there any way in hell to become a closer by the age of 40?

It seems I rarely get in, so I can never get any skill points, i'm now 24 years old (I started at 19) and am still only the setup man because i'm only a 72 overall.

        This is such bull****

For those of you using pitchers, what camera are you using in the minors?

              Hey there!

Just started playing the game for about a month or so...and just recently got my player in the majors (SP) and was selected to be in the All Star game...but on the calendar it skipped right over it. Do you ever get to play in the All star game?

Re: MLB 2K11 Official "My Player" Thread

I started a My Player recently as a SS on the Mariners. I consider myself to be pure power SS as well as a doubles hitter. For me, it feels like I either hit doubles or strikeout. With AA Jackson, I played 50 games, with 25 doubles, 14 homers, 56 RBI, and a .338 average. I got the call on August 5th, and was up and down the whole season with the Mariners. I started off hitting well, then went into a long cold streak, but at the end of September, I changed my stance and got into a groove. Overall, it took a while to adjust to major league pitching, and I ended the season with 20 doubles, only 3 homers, 18 RBI, and a .257 AVG through 50 games, mostly batting 6th or 7th. I also struck out 52 times. During the season, the Mariners made a blockbuster pitching trade, sending Felix Hernandez, Jason Vargas, and Doug Fister to the A's for Brett Anderson, Gio Gonzalez, and Dallas Braden. We didn't make the playoffs, and I'm looking to be traded to a contending team as soon as possible. Now, as of spring training, I have 66 contact vs LHP and RHP and 68 pwr vs LHP and RHP. I don't consider myself a good fielder (18 errors last season), although I do have 68 throwing accuracy, 68 arm strength, 67 fld. anticipation, and 67 fld. range. I'm not a very fast runner either (66 spd.), as I got caught a combined 27 times on 32 attempts between AA and the majors . Currently, I'm about to play my 8th Spring Training game, against the Padres.

My centerfielder for the nationals is playin pretty solidly in harrisburg at the moment. its tough creating a leadoff hitter in this game, because baserunning skill points are harder to attain than the other categories, and because while youre building up the speed and whatnot, youre stuck with a slow guy who hits for contact. Right now, after 38 games, hes hitting .333 with 2 hrs and 34 rbis and 7 Sb's, even though i only have 69 speed. hopefully i get called up soon, which i should seeing how not in the playoffs the nationals are gonna be.

Pitched a perfect game on the road against San Diego at Petco Park the other day. The manager rewarded me by letting me start the very next game on 0 days rest against the Padres again. I pitched 3 shutout innings (giving up 1 hit this time) before getting taken out. What the hell?

On my pitcher, I got off to a HORRIBLE start. I had 13 games, and my record was 2-9 -_-. I had a 6.34 E.R.A. with 5x more hits than strike-outs. I stayed in the minors for the whole season.. Then, for some akward reason, at the first game of the next season, i was called up to the Major's... Weird, huh? Well, long story short, i went 25-0 that season with a 0.95 era, 452 Strike-outs, and threw 6 no hitters.. Six! Lolol So far in my second season in the majors im 12 games in with 10 wins and 0 losses. 35-0 in my career so far, and im at 532 k's o.o?

I got some inquires since I recently got this game for my PC:

                                1) After you get called up to the Majors, do you ever get sent back down to the Minors if you are not performing well?

                                2) Also do your Player ever get injured and have to go on the DL?

Also noticed that if your player is playing on the field, that the cpu batter always hits towards you on a 0-0 count... Would like to see some variations on the count like 1-1 or 1-2 or 0-3 on the opposing batter.

Another weird thing is that I'm playing SS for the Cincinnati Reds and that they traded for 1B Ryan Howard when we still have Votto playing as our 1B. As a result Ryan Howard was sent to AAA to rot...
