Hopefully they redo ALL animations and change faces like they did in ESPN Hockey.

considering what Sega accomplished with the new hockey, basketball & football games, i'd expect a VERY strong baseball game next year....personally, i loved WSB2K3, so with the necessary improvements to that plus the new presentation style, should be a winner....but i certainly agree its hard to wait

While the sport departments are headed by different people, I really hope WSB goes the ESPN Basketball route and redoes every model / animation. With the exception of a few batting stances, most animations in WSB2k3 really sucked compared to MVP and High Heat Baseball.

Yeah, but just like all the other ESPN games, I'm nearly positive this game is going to leave/take something out.

For ESPN Football, they took out being able to tackle someone in Special Moves mode, they took out a jump button, and they took out many, many great lines of commentary including Michelle Westphall (not to mention they don’t seem to announce DURING the play, and they also say things kind of late too).

For ESPN Hockey, they just left in the near superhuman goalies, and they took out the option to change your camera zoom… pretty big in this game, because it needs to be zoomed out more. They also took out a good controlling deke move.

For ESPN Basketball, they took out a good post game, camera zoom option, good transition jump shots, the amount of dunks, practice mode, and they left in the idea that “all players play the same”.

Now I have a feeling that ESPN Baseball might take something out that was good in last year’s version, or they might leave something in that was horribly BAD in last year’s version. I know they will have at least a new color commentator as Hudler’s doing time, and I surely hope they get rid of Ted Robinson. I know they are adding player scaling and online play (according to FatPitcher’s own list of improvements on this game). But I hope that they can get night games right… like the sky and the lights and how they hit the ground. Hopefully they can add an evening sky, etc.

Surely we will get more than expected, but then many good things might be taken out. Hopefully this game will be Beta tested ala ESPN Football, that partly helped, but Michelle Westphall WAS in the Beta, along with scaling your own created players, and many other things that Steve_OS told us.

Oh well, as long as the things that they take out aren’t SUPER important (i.e. being able to view who’s getting paid most on your team on a chart), then it’s all good.

Re: I\'ve been patient, and we have nothing but the title of this game!

One Tning they finally added I think 1 or 2 years ago was being able to have a "multi-player" franchise. I've (we'll use the word ivested) money for 8 or 9 years on each and every sports franchise as it hit the store shelves, hoping for this feature. Boy, I wasted alot of money. And towards the end I was taking the games back because it's no fun playing to the end of anything sports related, and playing the CPU! My brother and I feed off of sports competition no matter what the sport. We have a fantasy draft and some excellent trade wars and some good old fashioned great gaming. Having this feature the games you play are more importanat to the final outcome. Mostly every other system had this feature and I know I wasn't he only person asking for this to be aded in the games! But, when the newest game came out I bought it hoping to myself that it's got to be in there on this game, and it wasn't! So for what seemed like and eternity and a waste of money it was never added until just recently. They have had their problems in the past one of which was the stationary outfielder's in the Dreamcast Game what were they thinking? Not much if you ask me, there wasn't an option to turn that feature on and off. Making plays in the outfield should be one of the intricacies of baseball. Being able to have proper balance in the outfield is a key asset to any baseball game. This auto-outfielding worked for the computer but stunk the joint up when your guys were out in field. They never seemed to be in the right place and it would always roll passed to the wall. Like EA's "meter" who asked for this feature, I didn't? And it's nothing new. It's a old idea that has been rehased into something brilliant. Just have a caution throw button and hard throw button no meter's! Just like there's "No Crying in Baseball" well theres "No Meters in Baseball" either! Meter's were fine at the foul line, good at kicking football, fine for golf. Look what meters did for the metric system it no longer exists. I don't want that spilling over into baseball and have my beloved sport disappear. I sort of went into a rant and it felt good. If I can think of some other "new features"these games had I will put them down here so they can we walked over.

Hey Fat Pitcher, good to hear that the team is hard at work. I am sure ESPN MLB will be excellent. Since you guys are working all day on the game and not refusing good ideas, I have one for you. If you get this right, you will get my 50 bucks.

Make the freakin' Braves hats the right color. It is a very dark blue, a midnight blue, almost black. Why every game has it as a light blue is befuddling. And before someone says that is just a minor thing, it isn't when you play with that team for a whole season.

If you fix it, I will preorder the game today sight unseen. And please, add some playoff atmosphere.

                        Thanks for reading.

I TOTALLY agree... I was the Braves, and that is NOT the right color. They better fix all of the colors (the Angels' red was bad also unless just the PS2 version is worse with colors).

Hey Fat Pitcher, good to hear that the team is hard at work. I am sure ESPN MLB will be excellent. Since you guys are working all day on the game and not refusing good ideas, I have one for you. If you get this right, you will get my 50 bucks.
