    Double Plays in My Player

My player is a SS, which means I get quite a few opportunities to turn unassisted double plays. The problem is I haven't found a way to ensure I tag 2nd before throwing to first. Often I'll hold down the X button to throw to first figuring that I will tag 2nd before releasing the ball, but far too often I release the ball before the tag can be made, so it winds up as a single out.

Is there anyway to make sure that you will touch 2nd before throwing it to first in these situations, or do you have to hope you time your throw right (I know that in real life this is about timing but in real life I'd also be completely aware that I need to touch 2nd before releasing the ball, and would release the ball accordingly). I often wind up waiting until I know I've touched 2nd (getting the lead runner is better than getting the guy at first), before starting the throw and this leads to either barely pulling off what should have been an easy double play or the throw being late and only getting one runner.
