I'm a professional, folks - and I've been doing this for years. I'll continue to do what I've always done; give you unbiased, factual information on sports games as soon as I possibly can. Nothing anybody says is ever going to change that.

LMAO, that's exactly what i was thinking.

When a couple of forum members call a staff writer a fanboy, i usually ignore it.
When a developer says a staff writer is blatantly giving out false information, i sit up and listen. I think he made a VERY key point about these OS people spending a lot of time trying to make MVP live up to their review of it, as evidenced by more than a few remarks in the MVP forum with regard to criticisms that were blatantly glossed over or ignored altogether, and a few overly snide and outright rude comments made to dissenters there.

Also supicious is the fact that they keep repeating the same thing: "we've neer been called EA fanboys before!" Like that somehow absolves them of the criticisms leveled against them, or that it in some way proves conclusively that they didn't overestimate MVP. MVP does some things this year that these people would have crucified ESPN over, no doubt in my mind whatsoever. They'll come here and deny it, and repeat the same "we haven't been called EA fanboys before!" crap that they've been spewing, but i can smell something going on here.

OS fell for the hype and reviewed MVP during that honeymoon period, and like all EASports fans, will be spending the next 3 months screwing with sliders that won't change the gameplay enough for it to truly live up to what they thought it was. That's precisely what's going on. You OS defenders may say "you have no proof!" but folks, i've been on this earth for quite awhile, and while i may not be the smartest guy in the world, i'm certainly not the dumbest. Experience with people who ar full of crap teaches you. The reason that this OS person stopped answering questions is obvious. Anyone with half a brain could hazard an educated guess.

Frankly, i'm no longer impressed with these people and, but for the fact that fans always relay the *real* information on the quality of games, i wouldn't even be here.

Hey, pitchingcoach - I'll stack your resume up against mine any day...

I'm a professional writer - have been for almost a decade. Might have heard of one of the sites I was at for years; little place called ESPN.com.
Couple of magazines, too; Baseball Weekly ring a bell? How about any of the STATS, Inc./Sporting News publications?

I volunteer my time here in order to further serve the gaming community by helping the best site of its kind stay on top. It used to be that folks appreciated it, as well - but perhaps that day has passed. Perhaps this same overinflated sense of entitlement has caused such charming posts to surface over the last few weeks.

Here's a word to the wise for you: If you want something from someone, it's probably best not to belittle them and call their credentials into question when you obviously know nothing of which you speak. It certainly won't get you what you want any faster.

Look, anymore I come here for the forum, not the reviews, nor beta impressions. I cared what you thoguht when i thought it was backed by legit info. I have been made suspicious of your info's legitimacy by comments made by FatPitcher, and *if* it is true that false information has been passed along to us, then you have abused the trust that made this site great, and the basic trust between "preofessional writer" and audience. You'll hate that i said that, but it's the truth.

Furthermore, why should you be above having your credentials called into question? If people can question the credentials and motives of the President of the United States, then certainly Steve Whoever is not above reproach... right?

I don't disagree with that assessment.

But don't you find it a wee bit odd to be already siding with an employee of the company - who stands to directly benefit from positive responses, and who has a vested interest in not seeing anything negative about "his" game shown - rather than someone who has nothing to gain in any way?

You haven't seen the game in person yet. He and I have. Which one stands to gain the most from casting the game in a positive light?

Whatever happened to presumption of innocence?

Can I propose another look at this?

FatPitcher got upset that MVP got a good review. FatPitcher got upset that the game he QAs is getting no-so-great impressions. FatPitcher realized that OS is brutally honest, and won't extend credit because we've enjoyed past efforts. FatPitcher slandered a site that has been known for years as an impartial source of news and reviews.

Do I need to remind anyone that FatPitcher works for Sega? You joke that EA has paid off OS ..... Sega literally pays off FatPitcher. Weekly.

Which is cool. That's his job, and his inside information is invaluable. But let's not pretend he's in any way impartial.
