Sorry guys, with all due respect Sega lost me this year. Reckon you are all either very loyal, buy every game out, or are just easily pleased.
WSB was my baseball game last year to be sure, but everything I've seen and read makes it appear to me Sega pulled an EA this year: same old product with a couple of minor upgrades that leaves it vulnerable to the competition - as Madden 2004 was to the surprising ESPN Football last season.
Ironically, EA shed its pattern here and actually pushed their title WAY ahead of its prior incarnation (yea I hate the progression prob too but in three seasons so far it's been manageable).
What I don't get is EA doing so much and releasing first, and Sega doing so little and releasing last. Perhaps that foolish novelty first person mode slowed them down...
* BTW, I'm not trolling here, I've been spending time here trying to learn about ESPN to decide whether it was worth purchasing or not. Had my hopes up, but made my mind up this a.m. not to spend the bucks. The last straw was reviewing new videos and screenies, the batting animations are embarassingly bad, and the player faces are not well done in comparison to MVP or ASB. The game really looks like it has barely advanced from last year.
