Should Brandon Phillips make the all-star team?

    His numbers are .310 avg. 7 hr's 44 rbi's... 15 SB 0 CS

I'd say for a second basemen that's pretty damn good numbers especially for a national league second basemen. As much as it hurts me to say this the Tribe made a horrible move in dumping this guy... maybe it is the change of scenery that has finally turned b-phil around but damn its like the guy is a brand new ballplayer.

Is he going to make it? Probably not. But I was wondering what you guys thought?

How many 2B do they usually take? After a quick look at the stats I'd say Utley and Uggla are probably the most deserving right now, with Jeff Kent, Castillo and Phillips not far behind.

Uggla has been such a surprise to me... who would have known that a untested rookie such as himself would have such a great year up to this point...

Yeah he's been impressive. 2B is a hard position to pick in the All-Star game because you usually end up with a bunch of players with the same mediocre stats.

Phillips is having a good year, no doubt, but second base is crowded in the NL so I don't think he goes. I expect only Uggla and Utley to go and if a third is chosen Castillo.

Just look at the shortstops we've dropped in recent years... Renteria, Sanchez, Nomar (currently @ 1st), and Hanley Ramirez are all having pretty amazing seasons, so don't feel bad!!

Should he? I don't know. Its hard for me to look at it objectively. I don't think he will though. Despite the Reds playing way above expectations the team is stil pretty much invisible to the media and most non Reds fans.

I just want him to sustain this production for the entire season. That's way more important than making the All-Star team.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.
