It's also not limited to WSB2K3 fans, either

I had HH, liked it, but decided to trade it in and get WSB to try (10 day EB return policy and all... ). In any event, WSB has more to offer in several areas. Graphically, it is superior. Adio-wise: also superior (5.1 surround sound on X-Box..WooHoo..sounds GREAT). Gameplay: tough call. HH appears a bit more realistic, but WSB is pretty realistic too, with the right settings. Depth: WSB franchise mode has more depth to it, with the coaches and all..the injuries are better, too (IMO).

Overrall, WSB edges out HH (IMO) by just a little. My wife found HH easier to play (hitting wise, especially...timed hitting and all). The ONE thing that I REALLY liked about HH was the two on two showdown mode....still, both are great games and you can't go wrong getting either one.

The one thing that is keeping me from buying WSB is that it doesn't have roster updates... HH at least has sharkport capabilities. And for all 3 levels of the minor leagues. This is a HUGE selling point for me.

I made the HH to WSB switch, too. I didn't play either game last year, but really liked HH 2002 on the PS2. And I enjoyed HH 2004 on the XBox, but after a dozen games, I just wasn't getting excited about playing. The gameplay is very realistic, but the atmosphere (or lack thereof) just got to me. I had some great close games, but there was no feeling of being in an exciting game due to the poor audio.

WSB has a nice balance of fun, realism, and atmosphere. It's hardly perfect, but that fun factor just makes me want to play game after game. But I completely understand the appeal of HH, it just wasn't the game for me this year.

Re: Well trading in HH for WSB

I'm happy to report after 3 days with WSB2K3, I'm happy in my desicion to trade in HH. As I said before, I've been a big HH fan for the last 4 years, but this year's edition was just lacking something. Well, the locksup certainly didn't help either. Someone else hit it spot on in another forum. HH2004 would be the leader in all BB games...if this years edition came out last year. Seems they are just a little behind in all the other things being offered by the other titles this year.

Now I'm certainly not a graphics whore, but I can tell you the super-smooth animations in WSB simply make this game much, much better then HH, especially in the fielding department. Stadiums look better, though not as good as ASB. . I like the franchise mode better as well, except for the minors system. The batter/pitcher interface is pretty good, too. Certianly no better or worse then HH, just different.

WSB may not be for everyone and this goes for HH as well, but 3DO really needs to 'step up to the plate' next year. Heehee, I made a funny pun!

I am also very happy with the change HH still has good gameplay but WSB2k3 just excels in all areas over HH and the other b-ball games. But HH is getting kinda stale they are'nt making enough efforts to improve upon the game gameplay is good but everything else is outdated. I am very happy with WSB2k3 best b-ball game available. I still like HH though my 2nd choice.
