    interesting CBA idea

I was listening to the radio a couple days ago and they were talking about David Beckham and the whole hub bub about him being transferred to Madrid. The guys that were talking about then mentioned how transferring players work over there.

Apparently Beckham would go to Madrid for $$ amount of dollars and it would be a straight transfer. This would be an excellent idea for MLB. Say the Yankees want Vlad Guerrero. Well they could ship a couple prospects like they usually would and also transfer something like 2-3 Million dollars to the Expos. This way the Expos would now have extra money to keep other players. This would work for other big market clubs acquiring highly sought after talent from small market teams.

The only problem would be trades between mid-market teams and others but I think that should remain status quo. Nonetheless it's an intriguing idea that doesn't require revenue sharing which Steinbrenner and his ilk abhor but they would still be responsible to help those small market teams by taking out money from their big wallets when making trades.

    Thoughts?
