Actually, he was talking to me, I think. Though if he checked to see who I replied to, he'd see that I was talking to the guy who was bemoaning his game 7 loss in the NLCS.

I know you're disappointed in your not making the playoffs because of a fault with the game, but there's no need to take it out on us.

                  No worries

I'd be pretty pissed if that happened to me.

Hehe... this is a first time I agreed with someone and get insulted for not knowing baseball... if he WAS referring to me...

If you read my first reply dude (not you Pitt) I had posted asking if you either "turned the option off" or if "it was absent from the game"... hence my acknowledgement that it was, indeed, not like REAL baseball. I just wanted to add a fact at that point that some teams have posted a better record than 85-77 and missed out on the playoffs, since another team in their division won that divison and another team elsewhere won the wildcard, and I'm sure it happened a ton of times before the wildcard was even implemented. It is pretty frustrated when you win 90 games, and finish 2nd in your division, while another divison has a 95-game winner and a 92-game winner, thus taking the wildcard off you... I know, it's not what happened to you, but I just posted another scenario where it'll be frustrating to have a nice season end with you going home after the last day of regular season.

When two teams from the same division "tie" there isn't a one game playoff.

When the Reds played the Mets in '99 or the Cubs played the Giants in 2000 I believe neither of the 2 teams playing were from the same division.
