ERA, WHIP, and Opponent Average are far more important than wins when evaluating a pitcher.

Yeah, I'll agree that wins are a little over-rated in today's game, HOWEVER it IS a good indicator that you are keeping your team in the game...whether in a pitching duel or a shoot-out.

There are way more imporatant stats to look at than win-loss record. W-L is just a primary stat, only good in conjunction with the rest.

And just to make sure you all know, when the pitcher makes an error it is NOT an earned run. Not sure if you were saying it was or should be.

like roger clemens last cy young? cheapest voting ever. Freddy was superior to him in every category other then wins, and his team was the best in regular season history. He had alot to do with it. Also, wins mean practically nothing win it comes to relievers, starters it's something, but relievers theres to many variables. Didn't Koch have like 9 wins last year?

Yeah.Well actually it was 10 wins 4 losses.

When a Closer gets that many wins/or losses, who know you have an unreliable closer and one that will blow alot of saves.
