Re: All Star Game... This time it counts
Its so stupid, why shouldnt it just be regular season record? It adds importance to the 162 games in the season, otherwise it gets to be too much.Comment

Re: All Star Game... This time it counts
I think some players are pissed at that advertisement..
"this time it counts" lol I'm sure they are like.. ummmmmmm it's never counted before?
I think this is kind of cool actually.. it does make the game more interesting when there is someting to play for imo. I'm not sure if the world series is the right thing though.. I think the team with the best record should home field in the World series.Comment

Good now we will see players actually trying. If Bonds does his usual slow trout on a double that could be a triple I bet a few players will be pissed.

Hardly. If players on his own team don't get pissed at him for doing it in games that count, then why would a bunch of guys he plays with once a year give 2 piles of beetle dung?
I really dislike this little experiment. To me, it is nothing more than a ratings ploy. I feel that the All-Star game definitely needed a kick in the pants, but this isn't the way to go about it.
What if players, in trying to play oh so hard to get that homefield advantage for their team get hurt?
Also, the thought of some scrub from Detroit, Milwaukee, Pittsburgh or one of the weak teams deciding who gets homefield advantage in games they will never play in just irks me. It is almost laughable.
Man, the way baseball is headed, its really a shame that Charlie O Finley is dead. He would have been right at home in today's game, with his day-glo orange balls, amongst other things.Comment
