Since I guess none of you have been involved in baseball during the trading deadline I dont think anyone knows how quick anc crazy the deals could change. Its unfair to say he never gets anything right. Most of you guys just sound like you have some vendetta against him.

I really don't see what the big deal is... Gammons is VERY insightful and makes loads of sense in his analysis'...

As for his "trade rumors", I believe that your disappointment in his "being off" is relative to the amount of stock you put in it..

Me, I just catch what I read, and basically I know right off the bat, not to expect them to come true. Hell, two years ago, it was "surefire" to the Pittsburgh news that Jagr was going to be traded to the Rangers. I come home from work and find out he's been traded to the Capitals. I mean it's THAT quick that it can change.

Normally I only really listen to analysts that used to play the game. Harold Reynolds, Joe Morgan, Rob Dibble, etc... Peter Gammons is the only exception. Maybe I don't agree with EVERY point he may make, but at least I can respect his viewpoints.

Did you ever think that maybe some of these GM's and front office people tell him things that are not really true, knowing that he will be on t.v. talking about it later, just so it looks like some teams are doing something when they are really not, i live in southern california and the LA Times is always reporting that the Angels and Dodgers are always after this free agent or that free agent or going to make this trade or that trade and yet they never sign the big player or make the blockbuster trade,
because its usually not true,
as for Guillen to the Royals he did say the night before the trade that Oakland was also interested,
he did say that Boston was interested in Suppan,they got him
he did say the Giants were Interested in Ponson,they got him
remember rumors are just that rumors.

gammons knows baseball just because he hasnt nailed down every trade before it has happened doesnt mean he knows any less about baseball, unlike alot of other baseball writers he knows the game. besides being a unc grad doesnt hurt either.
