While I agree with you, that Maddux has better control, he was aided a little (not trying to take anything away from his greatness) by a WIDE strike zone in ATL. I'm curious to look at his home/road numbers and see if there is much difference.

Also, Maddux, for the most part, has come up pretty small in the post season.

You do realize that Bonds won 3 mvp's BEFORE 2001?
Barry was also recognized as player of the decade for the '90s.

IMO- no way is the best player somebody who can only help his team every 5th day.

You do realize that Bonds won 3 mvp's BEFORE 2001?
Barry was also recognized as player of the decade for the '90s.

IMO- no way is the best player somebody who can only help his team every 5th day.

Agreed. When everything is said and done, barring injury and assuming that he can put up good numbers with a built in modest decline for age, he'll be known as the greatest ever.

Agreed. When everything is said and done, barring injury and assuming that he can put up good numbers with a built in modest decline for age, he'll be known as the greatest ever.

Bonds hands down the best of the past 15 years.

Maddux could be argued the best PITCHER of the past 15, but Clemons probably has that.

I was going to mention the 5 MVP's, nearly 6, and his constant excellent batting ability, except for in the playoffs for Pittsburgh...lol

And "Player of the Decade of the 90's"...wasn't that Griffey? I mean, PRE-injuries and all? I could be wrong, but I thought he won that distinction.

Both of these, IMO, HANDS DOWN.

Maddux should be recognized as one of the best pitchers of all time, not that he isnt, but I mean top 10.
