    Most Likely Bounce Back?

Every season, there seems to be those teams they have huge hype. Some teams live up to them for entire season, some of them live up to them for most of season then drop, some don't live up to them at first but then slowly start to do so, and others just don't live up to them at all.

Right now, there are a few teams in the MLB who were supposed to be great this year(playoff bound) and aren't living up to the hype at all. Obvious one is the Jays, but other teams are also doing similarly as bad(yes that makes sense...)

So the question is...which of those teams do people think has most chance to bounce back and actually make playoffs?

    Jays-Supposed to be playoff contenders(currently 12-21)
    Rays-Supposed to be playoff contenders(currently 14-17)
    Angels-Supposed to be playoff contender(currently 11-20)
    Dodgers-Supposed to be playoff contender(currently 13-17)

Jays/Rays are obviously surprising to see doing this bad, and what's even more surprising is that Red Sox/Yankees/O's are all .600 teams right now! AL East standings are upside down from what most were projecting it to be.

Dodgers are 4th in their division and Rockies(who didn't even have .400win% last year) are 5 games over .500!
So not just surprises with the struggling teams, but also surprises of teams within their division.

    2012s notable bounce back teams:
Angels(Started off season going 8-15, finished with 89 wins)
A's(Started off season going 22-30, made playoffs)
Tigers(Started off season 23-27, made it to WS)
    29
    Jays

    2
    Rays
    0%
    10
    Angels
    0%
    6
    Dodgers
    0%
    5
They all will bounce back/make playoffs

    Re: Most Likely Bounce Back?

I need to be careful what I say on this forum as there are some knowledgeable fans here as opposed to the bandwagon fans out there on main street. But the pre-season hype was all hype and some of that hype was just over the top. The Toronto media was definitely guilty of hyping the "2013 Blue Jays as the clear cut favorite to win the World Series" before the first pitch was ever thrown out in Spring Training and now that the team is not performing up to these expectations the bandwagon fans are revolting. But it was more than just the Toronto media. The so called ESPN baseball insider experts don't appear to be experts at anything at all.

The Rays and the Dodgers aren't that far back in their respective divisions and both teams haven't dug themselves as much of a hole as the Jays and Angels find themselves in. There are still plenty of games to be played and if anyone of these teams was to get hot (including the Jays and Angels), they could still find themselves back in the hunt. I don't need to tell you that it is a long season.

The Yankees and Red Sox are definitely playing well. I am not as surprised with Boston, but New York is a mystery with all their injuries. Now you also chose to include the Rockies in this discussion who were poor last year and yet lead their division this year. As a Rockies fan I can't help but bite and give my two cents (even though the penny has been phased out in the land where people's heads split in two when they talk... LOL). The so called experts were highly critical of the Rockies during the off season for NOT cleaning house and instead coming back with virtually the same team as they had last season. The so called experts should have known this, but were you aware that the Rockies were decimated by injuries last year? However the franchise chose to sacrifice the team's 2012 record last season by not rushing their injured players back into the games to ensure they were properly rehabed and ready to play this year? Granted the key to the 2013 Rockies success/failure is in their pitching staff, but with the exception of a few games (every team is capable of stinking up the joint for the odd game) this is a solid team. They possess an extremely explosive offense at home but also on the road and are very competent in the field. Only time will tell, but if they can stay healthy they should be there competing with the Giants, Diamondback and Dodgers come late September. Don't be too surprised if the Rockies are a playoff team possibly even a division winner in a very competitive division. But of course I could be getting ahead of myself. It is a long season and we are only 1/6th of the way through the marathon.

The media (and some fans) were wrong for hyping certain teams over the others. But there is a reason why the games are played on the field as opposed to being played on paper or in cyber space.

I don't know the answer to this, I just want to express how happy I am that the Blue Jays are playing poorly.

Boo to you lol. Having said that, kudos to your team playing well in spite of all the injuries although our cast-offs have become your gems ie. Wells, Overbay.

I don't think any of them will bounce back, but I sure hope the Jays bounce back

I think the Dodgers will bounce back and make a run in the playoffs.

          NFL: Saints
          MLB: Tigers

Loving this Yankees/Jays jawing in here. It has come to my pleasure as well that the Jays have failed thus far. Anyway, I do believe the rays will bounce back. Their pitching is far too talented to fall out this early.

As long as David Price remains as worthless as a ****-flavored lollipop, then the Rays are doomed.

True, I'm just assuming, and almost hoping, he will return to form.

Why would a Yankees fan hope for anything good to happen to the Rays?

I know, weird right? There is just something about Price that I like. He has a great personality and just seeks like a genuine guy. As long as he doesn't do well against us, I'm ok with it.
