Re: Is Joe Mauer going to play?

Prior didn't really ask for too much, and the Twins publicly stated that they did not pass up Prior becasue of a high contract or bonus demend. It's the Twins, so take it for what it's worth.

Texieria was never going to be the pick at #2 for the Twins.

Mauer is batting over .400 right now, and is a lock to play 5 games a week for the Twins behind the plate. His defense is already there, and his hitting might suprise some people. Will he struggle early? Maybe, but don't count on it. This guy is the real thing and is ready to hit in the majors.

Morneau is a great hitting prospect, but his glove is below average, and the Twins do not put below average defensive players in the field as regulars. That's why they're always one of the best defensive teams in the majors. Morneau will play 1B every day at triple-A and will be called up only if there is an injury to Doug M., or Lecroy struggles.

Of course the Twins are gonna say it wasn't about money. Why would they call themself out on being cheap?

I said, take it for what it's worth. The Twins are cheap, and they have to be. I don't hold it against them. They're a great organization.

.......especially compared to the White Sox.

How exactly are they great? Do they have a great stadium? No. A great team? No. Great Ownership? No.

Re: Is Joe Mauer going to play?

Well, they are a small market team with a relatively low payroll, yet they've won the last 2 division titles and have one of the top 3 famr systems in all of baseball. States, or cities build stadiums, my man, not teams.

As a White Sox fan, you should know the differance between a good organization and a bad one.

White Sox: Major market team that fails to sign its key players, has a below-average farm system, constantly makes poor trade decisions, has a new stadium that's already outdated, and their claim to fame is the idiots that jump out of the stands to attack players and umpires. When was the last White Sox World Series title?

Twins: World titles in '87 & '91. Small market team that developes its own talent through the draft and an excellent farm system. Respected throughout baseball for their style of play and their priority on baseball fundementals. Consistantly one of the top 3 defensive teams in baseball.

Which organization is good, and which is bad?

The best thing that could ever happen to the White Sox would be if Jerry Reinsdorf sold them and an owner who actually wants to win takes over.
