wow- to Vegas??? that's pretty weird - considering that's the "capital of betting" in the nation.. i forgot where i read it, but i saw that MLB was trying to get the 'Spos to Monterrey, Mexico.. if true, they could be called "Las Vegas Aces, Las Vegas Snakeyes"..

Vegas would be a horrible idea. Sure, theres 1.5 million people, but I bet a large portion of them work nights, at the casinos, so its not like they'll be able to see them. You definately can't rely on tourists alone either, because they go there for the casinos, and usually they go during the nights.

Best place for the Expos would be Northern Virginia/D.C. area.

The one major hurdle in moving the Expos to Washington is going to be Peter Angelos, Vegas is not a good idea, Portland may be the best place next to D.C. for the team, but i guess we'll find out this summer.

As for the A's moving, i don't think it will happen, it's probably just a ploy to try and get a new stadium.

I think the move to Vegas by the 'Spos was just planned for while they were in the proccess of moving to the city they're really going to end up in, while the new stadium is being built. That's the way I heard it. Vegas really wouldn't be a bad idea, just give 'em a few more night games and I think people will be pleased. Vegas is a prime location, and leads to many excellent and annoying seguays(sp?). Just think of it: "Will the Spos roll the dice and use their recently flailing reliever? it'd be a gamble, that's for sure!".

But yeah, I wouldn't mind the A's moving to portland or the Expos. My only fear is that they'll name the team after a Rose, being that the city of Portland believes themselves to be the "City of Roses" because of some ugly as hell one petal rose that's native there. Truth is it's the City of Potheads, but hey, you didn't hear that from me! There is definitely enough demand for a team in all four locations, but overall the best place would probably be D.C. Easier to rename the team, move 'em in, and everything. Pretty much all of the locations are between the homes of at least two teams. The M's and A's, the Pads and Giants, the Orioles and Red Sox, definitely makes for exciting enough games to bring in crowds. Wherever either of these teams end up, I'll be happy. San Jose does seem like a strange place for a team though....

I disagree. With the amount of money flowing in Vegas youd have a packed house every night for a MLB game. The Casinos alone would buy up every single box seat and prime spot and use them as giveaways for the tourists.
