Turay is awesome. Being a Mets fan, I hope he pans out. He's ridiculously good but injuries keep stalling his progress. I think Turay will be in AA by the end of the year IF he stays healthy.

Ya, I have read all about that. BA is messed up, that ranking for the state of Washington is terrible. They had Tuissosopo way to high, just because of his name. Do I think K.C. was a reach? Maybe, but a 6th-10th round pick, there is no way. A former Auburn player, from my highschool, was a high pick in the draft, and I think KC is just as good as Alhaji Turay.

that's good to hear. And obviously the rangers thought that too, as they used their second rounder on him. So I guess draft 'experts' are wrong sometimes too.

and with 50 rounds in the mlb draft, do you guys think there's any chance a major league team just picks a name that's on a list? I can't imagine that they'd have good info on 1500 or so 'prospects'.

and by the way, a guy from the community college I went to last year was drafted yesterday. I can't imagine any scouts going to see them but what do I know.

Yeah I did. I actually played against his older brother Matt. Matt was one heck of a hitter and from what I hear, Neil is 10x better. Unfortunately we won't get to see him for another 4-5 years or so, but he does look good.

He also WANTS to play in Pittsburgh so that should make negotiations easier.

I actually went to NA myself - graduated in 95. Played baseball there also. Seems like a long time ago! Now I bought a house and moved up into the Cranberry area (Seven Fields to be exact).

I actually grew up in the Ingomar area if you're familiar with that... Wow, small world!

Did you watch the video of him on MLB.com? Not a scout or anything but the kid looks good, plus he's built like an ox. Nice to see the Pirates take a local kid, I hope he pans out.
