Beltran isn't technically a snub since he was chosen by the AL players to go, but it's a shame he doesn't get the stage. I also look at Abreau as being a snub. And while there are guys like Beltre and Overbay who are putting up good numbers, the thing that strikes me about Abreu and Beltran is that neither has EVER been an all-star... in spite of about 10 solid to excellent seasons they have both been continuously forgotten. This should end this season.

Yea, but it shouldn't be about being a big name. Giambi has barely played well enough to deserve to start on his own team, let alone the all star game.Ortiz should have been the starting 1B.

If your talking about 1B in the AL, Frank Thomas is having a pretty good year. I know he's having a better year than Giambi, and beating him in about every category, if not every one, but of course, he's not AS big of a name so he doesn't get the votes.Comment

Re: Vote for your snubs and least deserving All-Stars
I agree, Danny Kolb being one of the least deserving is stupid. They just all saw that he only had 9 Ks and assumed he was having a bad year. What they forgot to look at was his 0.84 ERA and the fact that he has the third most saves in the NL.
Abreu can't really be on that list, since he was just voted in as the 32nd man.
Giambi shouldn't be there. Paul Konerko should be in his spot for sure. Heck, Paul Konerko should have made it over Matsui. He's got 5 more HRs, 1 more RBI, and less strikouts, but you know that international voting played a huge role there.
I would say Lyle Overbay is by far the biggest snub. A .341 BA and 61 RBIs and he's not on the team? What's worse is that he wasn't even an option for the 32nd man.Comment
