Originally posted by glucklichBut the point is that the Red Sox lineup is the equal to that of the Yankees except the Yankees dont have a pitcher of Schillings quality. That doesnt mean Schilling wont have a bad game or Mussina/Lieber/Vasquez wont raise their game for a 7 game series but if things hold true to form having Schilling pitch 3/7 games s/b an advantage.Just wait till Arsenal moves into Emirates Stadium.Comment

My vote is for a costly error or something stupid from Mark Bellhorn.
Schilling doesn't scare me. He would've lost game 7 in 2001 if it wasn't for the bottom of the 9th, and our lineup is just so much better than it was then. Also, we made him cry earlier in the season.:y4:
I think everyone is underrating the Yankee pitching. Mussina has been great since September, and usually does pretty good against the Sox (they're hitting .189 as a team against him, [Manny .203, Nixon .193, Varitek .091, and Ortiz .069]). Lieber gives up a lot of hits, but he always seems to get out of a jam. Brown is the wild card, IMO. If he steps up, the Yankees won't have many problems. If he chokes, it could be trouble. Vazquez, while I don't have much confidence in him, wasn't that bad against the Twins, he didn't get any strikes called.
The bullpen is much better than last year's with Gordon.
The defense is much better with Cairo at 2b over Soriano and Olerud over Giambi/Johnson. Jeter is having his best defensive season at SS, and A-Rod looks like he's been at 3b for years.
I think it's gonna be a great series, and hopefully the Yankees win it in 6.Comment
