I think its a team thats going to only get better, which has pretty much been the trend here at UofL. We were 2-1 at one point in 2004/2005 season and went to the Final Four. Last year we were 5-3 at one point and went to the Elite Eight. I think we'll be fine.

Re: Upset Alert Thread
Before the season started I kept saying that people are underestimating the loss of Padgett, Palacios and Caracter and there are huge front court question marks. Today was a sign of that, WKU doubled Samuels the entire game and UL had no other answer inside and it affected the entire team obviously.
If they are going to cut down the nets I still believe they will need another big man to step up and be an adaquate compliment to Samuels."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Re: Upset Alert Thread
They also played a lot of zone today. UofL shot.. 15-53(28%) from the floor, 18-26(69%) from the free throw line and 6-28(21%) from the 3pt line. Thats not going to happen very often. UofL had a lot of open looks, but just didn't knock them down. Before the season started I kept saying that people are underestimating the loss of Padgett, Palacios and Caracter and there are huge front court question marks. Defensively, UofL played well enough to win, especially given they couldn't set up their presses. Offensively, we couldn't hit water if we fell out of boat in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.
If UofL loses one of their next 3 games(Indiana St, Ohio U, Lamar) then I'll hit the panic button. Until then, given how UofL has started in years past, its par for the course.

I still do. That's why I'm shocked. But Pitino knows how to have his guys tourney ready. He knows March as well as any coach in the league.-August 17, 1960Originally posted by VP Richard M. Re: Upset Alert Thread
This is what I've been told and read.
UofL and WKU signed a 4 year deal. Neither team could decide/agree where the first game of the series would be played, so they decided that the first game would be a neutral site and the two settled on Nashville. Next year its @Freedom Hall and the following meeting is supposed to be @WKU and then the final meeting is supposed to be another neutral site game although UofL is saying they want it to be @Freedom Hall because WKU suggested Nashville since they wanted to play in a bigger venue then there home gym. UofL says that was one of their "home" games. We'll see what happens.
After today's game, I say, give WKU some money and run like hell.

Re: Upset Alert Thread
I thought UofL would lose obviously in the non-conference, but I didn't expect it to be vs WKU. I thought it would be UK, Ole Miss, or Minnesota or a combination of the 3, but certainly not WKU. But hey, **** happens.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

Re: Upset Alert Thread
A trip to that hell hole once every two years is enough.
And yes, UK plays here once a year.
I honestly don't know why they chose Nashville. UofL claims that WKU picked that site, thus making that one of their home games in the series. Hell, they can't even settle on where they'll play the 4th meeting. UofL says here, WKU says neutral site.
