Yeah its pretty crazy, all year every time I've watched UK play Terence Jones has just failed to impress me. Last night when he scored 8 points early for UK I was like wow hes finally going to show up on a big stage, then just as quickly as he got those 8 points he didn't do much of anything the rest of the game only getting 3 more during the remainder.

Not sure what it is about him, with his skill set he should be a lot more dominant than he is, I think he goes pro and I think he'll be out of the league pretty quickly.

Lamb and Knight are the real deal though, impressed by both, I would be pretty surprised if Knight came back, he should be a pretty high pick and this is a weak draft. He can get his money and always go back for the degree later.

Aye if he's a junior academics wise he could just do classes in his off time.

Jones will likely go but there is a chance that he will come back from what I have heard. Time will tell.

Knight will be gone. As good as he has played this season, he will be behind Teague next year the second Teague gets a grasp on how to play college ball. he is just that much better than Knight, even a sophomore Knight. And I don't think he wants to play the 2 position eventhough I think that ultimately is the best position for him.

Lamb will likely come back. Don't think his draft stock is high enough. He is kind of a tweener in that he isn't really big enough to play the 2 and he doesn't have the handles or experience to play the PG position.

The one that may surprise people to leave is Liggins. He has said he will decide with his family what to do. I think it has everything to do with his family and upbringing more than anything and if he goes, I hope he gets drafted. Kid has come a long way.

Perhaps I wasn't clear, but at no point did I claim that Jim was a saint--I would be surprised if anyone thought so. However, villains can slay other villains.

Because I've been posting here for a while (admittedly, quite sporadically), I thought my Carolina credentials were widely known. I imagine the fact that I'm a Carolina grad makes my initial point make more sense.

I know nobody cares, but the uconn women are down by 10 with 5:25 left.

And Stanford already lost to Texas A&M

so Calhoun is everything that is wrong with college basketball? Give me a break. Yeah the dude doesn't have a perfectly clean record, but dont you think thats overstating it just a bit, jeeze

As for everyone rooting for Butler, I think Uconn thrives on that. They've already beaten Zona and SDST in the West where those teams pretty much had home games lol. In fact, its crazy that all 4 times Uconn has been to the final four they've come out of the West bracket. What are the odds of that

I do find it a little ironic that Butler was actually supposed to be the better team entering the season (they were ranked in the preseason top 25, while Uconn wasn't on anyones radar) and yet Butler is the cinderella story and Uconn is the big bad major conference team. Funny how short peoples memories are sometimes.

At the end of the day though, this is why college b-ball is so great, because both teams stories are so awesome. Only in March can this stuff happen

Man, you sound like me in over in the NFC Championship game thread. Trying to take the "everyone's disrespecting us/woe is me" angle LOL.

What the hell do preseason rankings mean? Diddly-squat. Butler is the "cinderella story" because they had to win their conference tournament to even get into this thing. Meanwhile, UCONN won their tougher conference tournament as a play-in team and finished the year in the Top 25 (something Butler did not). Not to mention the fact that at the start of the actual tournament, UCONN was given a 3 seed, while Butler was given an 8 seed.

I love the One Shining Moment piece as well. Can't wait to see Luther's version back, as that's the only one that feels right.

really? I'm pretty sure I'm saying everyones disrespecting Butler by calling them the underdog when I don't really see it that way.

I don't actually expect anyone outside of CT to root for Uconn, Butlers a great story (had Uconn lost, you can bet your *** I'd be rooting for them over Kentucky lol). That said, the idea that Jim Calhoun is everything that is wrong with college b-ball is laughable. That is really the only thing I take issue with.

The rest of my points were merely to highlight just how great March is. The fact that Uconn, a team a month ago (pre big east tourny) had absolutely no realistic shot to win and now they aren't even the best story in the Championship game, that is crazy (in a good way lol). It's a shame after tonight we've got to wait 11 months for the madness to begin again.

Now if you don't mind, I think I've got the itch for some Choops 2k8 lol

I was rooting for UConn vs UK for financial reasons, that won me one of the pools I'm in.

Tonight I root for Butler for financial reasons, I win my other pool as long as UConn doesn't win, if Butler wins I win.

I made that statement hyperbolically, just to put extra emphasis on the good vs evil aspect of the game.

I am confident but so nervous for this game tonight, I cannot believe THIS team is 40 minutes away from our third national title. This game is going to be a nail-biter and I'm sure it'll be a one or two possession game in the last minute.

We have dodged so many last-second bullets this post season (Knowles three at the buzzer in the BET, Zona's two looks in the Elite 8, Liggins three on Saturday) that I almost feel it's fate lol. Just crazy that we've won so many close games, hopefully the streak continues tonight.

I'm hoping Lamb is the difference, I think he has a huge match up advantage. Also hoping that we attack the rim like crazy and make this a parade to the FT line and obviously my #1 goal for the evening is to see Howard get into foul trouble.

                                Good luck to Butler.
