I mean you can blame the fouls for the loss but Memphis came out flat in the 2nd half. SMU finally has a home field advantage and it showed today.

You're right, they got flustered and couldn't respond until it was way too late. Part of that was due to the refs taking them out of their game. They couldn't pressure the ball at all in the 2nd half without getting called for a little foul.

Now that's not the only reason they lost, don't get me wrong. Pastner got outcoached, which is something that happens pretty often. SMU attacking the lane was excellent. Only thing about them I don't like is that #11. He just wreaks of tool, similar to the guy from Ole Miss. Dude should have fouled out in the first half with all his flopping around and pushing off.

I didn't see the game, but it's pretty hard for me to ever blame the refs for a 15 point defeat…

I didn't see the game either and I can definitely see your point, but there are other factors that could contribute to such a loss with a majority of it blamed on refs. Depends on if a good player gets a couple of crappy fouls and has to leave the game. Changes how players play the game and they become tentative. Add that to the advantage the other team might have in free throw attempts and you could make an argument that refs played a heavy role in the loss.

Again, no idea about the game in question, just a thought.

Yes, I agree…I thought about that after I posted. It seemed from his post he was saying the refs cost them 3 or 4 times so I thought it was a close game.

That was a shameful flop by Christmas that got Parker fouled out.

Christmas just flopped twice to foul out both Parker & Jefferson. I hate Duke with every fiber in my body but both those fouls were ridiculous.

Syracuse should be embarrassed that this is even a game right now. The free throw discrepancy, the lack of penetration from Duke's O, the home field, the foul trouble Duke is in. I mean really.

What a stupid end to this game.
